Since the beginning of Edeaveth, men held the power. Women are just prizes: bought, won, or earned. Women have to obey every command the men give her.
From birth, women are put into a Maiden's Home, which is where they learn to behave. There are different types of Maiden's Homes around the kingdom. How a girl is placed is based upon looks, behavior, and where their birth parents were in the System, a social ranking, at birth. Each Madien's Home determines the price range for each women. But the value is solely upon the lady herself.
At the age of 17 each woman is able to be bought, won, or earned.
-To be bought, a man has two options. 1) He sets an appointment up at a Madien's Home and browses the ladies. When he chooses the one he wants. He simply buys her. 2) Once every 6 months, there is to be a festival. The women are put up for sale. This way is cheaper than the first, in most cases.
-To be won, two men must duel. The winner gets both the ladies and the loser is, usually, dead.
-To be earned, a man must go on a quest from a Luka. Once his conquest is over, the Luka who assigned the man his quest gives him whatever women the Luka sees fit.
There is a special Madien's Home, just for Luka's, or the Royal family. These women are given as gifts to the men. These women are among the finest women in Edeaveth. They come from a long line of beautiful, behaved, and socially acceptable ranking in the System. These women are not to be sold, won, or earned unless the King gives the okay.
Women from the Luka family are the only exception to this Law.
