Watching the sky as the breeze swept her bangs she felt relaxed, as her eyelids slowly began to fall.
"MOTHER!! NO!!! "
Waking from the scream that she remembered she sit up and breathed heavily panting and gasping for air, she was exhausted just from a dream.
As she was calming her self down she heard voices from a far. "Usagi-sama! Usagi-sama! "
Hearing that she stood up and replied to it while waving her hand. "Mamezou! I'm over here!"
As the little boy was looking everywhere he saw Usagi waving at him. He smiled and tears began to swell up on his eyes as he rushed over to her.
Seeing the little boy running towards her with a swelling eyes with tears and a runny nose she giggled and opened her arms to him as he buried his small head to her chest.
Seeing Mamezou who looked like a bunny cowering into a hole in her chest, she felt her heart warmed up and she hugged him tightly. "What's wrong Mamezou? "
The little boy with a messed up hair and a muddy face looked up at her and started to tear up while moving his leg as if he was terrified. "A dog chased me hic, when I was looking for you hic, I accidentally stepped on its leg hic, I WAS SO SCARED!!! USAGI-SAMA!!!! "
Hearing the cute boy cry while hugging her felt like she wanted to hide again and to see if he would cry non-stop just to find her.
She carried the little boy back to the village, but as they were going back she saw him still crying and had hiccups because he cried too much. And so she reached out on her pocket and grab something. "Mamezou, I have a gift for you. "
The little boy looked at her while he hugged her neck. She smiled and handed over a tail of a rabbit, as soon as she gave that the little boy's face lit up as he hold his gift.
She smiled and wrapped her hands on Mamezou. "So did you like it? I really had a hard time finding a rabbit with that hair quality you know. "
As she said that Mamezou repeatedly nodded as if though he was extremely happy.
When they arrived at the village, tons of mouths began to open.
"Hey, look it's the chief's great granddaughter. What a disgrace of the Suzumiya clan."
"The chief must be having a hard time just having a granddaughter like her. "
"I can't believe she is one of the Suzumiya clan. "
The people began to criticize Usagi, as Mamezou heard this he looked at Usagi and saw her frowning. He immediately tug her collar and that made Usagi notice him. "What is it? "
Even though Usagi was smiling at him he still didn't felt reassured. "Usagi-sama let's go and feed Okina."
The girl know that he was comforting her, she felt happy just by this little boy worrying about her. "OK, I bet Okina misses you now. "
As Usagi said that Mamezou's face turned pale but even so he smiled at her. She felt her heart warmed up when she saw him, cause even so he was scared of dogs he was willing to bring up feeding Okina.
And not only that, his far terrified of Okina than any other dog, because Okina was a wolf that Usagi picked up and trained before her mother died.
...
When they arrived at the forest Mamezou began to tremble as Usagi put him down to call Okina.
The moment Usagi whistled, a loud howl was heard across the forest. After that everything went silent and you can only here snarling and growling sound.
The moment the snarling and the growling stopped a big white female wolf came out of the bushes and was behind Mamezou.
Before Mamezou can even run he was picked up by the wolf and was hugged by it. Okina loved Mamezou as if he was her pup.
Mamezou was pale and was trembling really hard, seeing that Usagi felt bad about it. "Okina, that's enough Mamezou looks like his gonna cry any minute now. "
The wolf obediently obeyed. And so they fed her with a boar that Mamezou caught by himself.
The three of them played together. But they were interrupted by Saizo Suzumiya who was the great grandfather of Usagi.
Usagi immediately told Okina to go back and so did the wolf obeyed.
Usagi went over to Saizo and smiled at him. "Is there something you need me for great grandfather?"
Saizo was displease by Usagi and so he took an axe and handed it to her. "Mmm. "
Usagi was confused by her great grandfather's way of talking. "What do you mean "Mmm" you don't expect me to know what your saying with just that. "
Saizo put his hand on his head and shook it. This girl is absolutely useless is what he was going to say but didn't. "I want you to try throwing this. "
Usagi scrunched up her face and said hysterically. "What? Throw? But why? "
Saizo was irritated by his stupid granddaughter. "Just do it! "
Usagi didn't had a choice, but she knew what he was planning. And she can't give her what he is expecting for.
As soon as Usagi throwed the axe it curved up and was headed straight towards Saizo. "Watch out! "
Luckily Saizo was an experienced shinobi and so blocking it with his walking stick was easy. But he sighed when it turned out this way.
Saizo know what is going through Usagi's heart, her mother died before her eyes and nonetheless she couldn't even do anything, and the worst part is her mother gave her life to save hers and so she thinks that having ninjutsu or genjutsu will just lead to another loss of life.
What a pitiful child she is, even though she is a prodigy if she chooses to be a clumsy little girl that doesn't know anything about a shinobi then she will only lose her life.
As Saizo taught of it, it is the only way that Usagi won't be able to do any of it and just live her life. "Usagi if you do not wish to involve yourself with ninjutsu or genjutsu then the only task you can do now is to marry someone and bear a child."
