The rain fell upon the windows of the bus like tears streaming down the cheeks of an angel that lost its wings in a misundestanding. A young woman, sat on the bus with her earbuds in, turned down low enough to hear the raindrops pitter-patter the window. Her hood pulled up over her head, with her legs propped up against the seat infront of her. Her phone was out as she texted a few friends, and the delicate light from the screen shined upon her pale face. Suddenly an email came through, one she was hesitant to open. She sighed under her breath as she slide her notification bar down and clicked on the email. It was from her boss. Tears formed in her eyes as she read the final words "we are letting you go.." "Dammit.." she said under her breath as she layed her head in her lap and cried. Her tears leaving small wet patches on her light blue jeans. This job was her only chance to make the rent for the month. She managed to pull herself together, not being someone who cries alot. She sat back in her seat looked out the bus window and turned up her music. Suddenly she smiled when the song Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley came on, she use to listen to this in highschool when ever she had a crush on someone. She closed her eyes and relaxed the best she could.

After a few minutes the bus came to a hault. "Denise, this is your stop." Mr. Ramero, the bus driver said as he opened the doors. Denise pulled out her ear buds and walked off the bus. "Thank you Ted, safe driving!" Denise said as she waved to Mr. Ramero. She finally made it to her apartment. She fumbled for her keys in her pocket and unlocked the old creaky door. Room 206, the place where shes been staying the past few months after her mother passed away and the bank took the house. She opened the door slowly, and the old smell of wood floors and old paint filled the air. Denise tuned on a lamp that was in the hallway that lead to the living room and kitchen. This place was small but had the homey feeling to it. The front door opened into a hall that lead to the living room, to the left was the kitchen and to the right was the bedroom and a bathroom. The colors of the walls were muted shades of yellows and greens. She tossed her purse onto the kitchen isle and walked to the living room. She laid down on the couch, it was old but still soft and comfortable. She pulled her phone out of her pocket to see if anyone texted her. Someone did it brought a smile to her face, it was Eric. She quickly replyed "I missed you. I'm glad work is going well for you." He claimed to be some form of hunter, he never specified but it seemed to be doing him well. Denise meet Eric online, and they started to chat regularly. He seemed to be the only one who could cheer her up when the rest of the world seemed to be against her. They texted back and forth for awhile. Denise layed back and just listened to the rain as it hit the roof of her apartment. She hated the rain, it sounded sad to her. She wondered if Eric could hear the rain too.

Denise arose from the couch and went to her bedroom. The red characters on the analog clock read 11:37pm. She walked over to her closet and grabbed her nightgown. She made her way into the bathroom. She reached up and took out her hairtie. Her soft wavey mahogany hair swifty fell and hugged her face. She ran her fingers through it and looked at her own reflection in the mirror. Pale skin, hazel eyes, small pink lips, and a button nose, nothing more than average in her opinion. Denise removed her hoodie and tank top, when all of a sudden her phone rang from in the bedroom. "What now?" She said annoyed as she walked back to her room and answered the phone. The voice on the other end said "Hello is this Mrs Demir? This is Angela from Pic n Snap Photography." Denise sighed "Yes that is me, what do you need Angela?". Angela responded by explaining how Denise's Ex-Boss has given her a bonus, and has sent the deposit to Denise's bank account. Denise was shooked, now she could pay for the rent for the month. All tho she lost her job as a photographer for Pic n Snap, she was relived to be at least be able to pay for the rent. After a few moments she ended the call and changed into her night gown a baby blue silk dress she seen at the mall and couldn't help but buy. She twirled around in excitment and relife. She then transfered her money over to her bill to pay off her rent.
