Life is a precious thing. Most of us take it for granted, and don’t realise just how lucky we are. No matter what kind of life you lead, it is always possible for it to be beautiful.
Having a beautiful, and full life does not mean that you have to be the most popular person in school, the richest person in town, and it does not mean that you have to invent the next piece of life changing technology.
Having a beautiful life means that you have done what makes you happy. It means that people will remember you in the most positive ways possible. They will remember that you always had a smile on your face and you helped anyone that needed it.
You don’t have to be a billionaire, or be the most influential person in the world; you don’t even have to have anything to show someone how much you care about them.
All it takes to make someone’s day better, is a simple wink, or a smile as you walk by them. A little kiss when the person that you love is feeling down, even the most minor of compliments can have a huge effect on someone’s day.
That is how I want to be remembered; as the girl who could brighten someone else’s day just by smiling at them. I didn’t have the best upbringing, due to financial issues, but I never let that bother me, or stop me from living my life to the fullest. I worked hard for the little things that I did have, and I never took anything for granted.
I never passed up an opportunity in life, always tried to excel in everything that I did, and I always did it with a smile on my face.
It didn’t matter how little I had, I always wanted to try and give other people what they wanted, and needed, but couldn’t have.
It was my mother’s childhood that was my inspiration for making my life the best that I could. Her family was extremely poor, and often starved for days at a time. She would never let me starve though. She and my father both worked hard to provide for us.
I worked as well, down at the local cafe. I didn’t get paid much, but it was enough for me. There was a family that were always begging people for food or money; a mother and her two small children.
From what I could tell, they didn’t have a home. I always gave part of my pay check to them so that they at least got some food in to their stomachs.
I also gave some of my pay to a charity for homeless people. My mother told me stories of what it was like to be homeless; to be scared, and alone on the frightening streets of the dangerous neighbourhoods. I didn’t want anyone else to have to go through what she did, and done everything in my power to help prevent it.
My name is Amelia Grace, I’m eighteen years old, and I graduated from high school almost two months ago. I also have cancer.
I was given an estimate of two weeks left to live. That was two weeks ago. My doctor believes that tonight is the last night that I will have on this earth.
I felt pretty satisfied with my life. I had known that this day was coming for a while now, so I did my best to achieve everything that I have ever wanted to.
Except for one thing, there was only one thing that I felt I was really missing out on; a long and happy life with my boyfriend, Thomas.
We have been dating for three years. They were the best three years of my life. Some say that there is no such thing as a perfect boyfriend, or a perfect girlfriend, but to me, Thomas was the perfect boyfriend.
