I followed my sister through the hallways until we reached the Guest Wing. "Uh... Why are we here?"
"Duh! To check out the Outcasts!"
"What do you mean... check out the outcasts?!"
"Well... Don't you want to see who you're versing?"
"Uh....."
Tsk Tsk, she clucked. "Just come on."
With that she grabbed my hand, and despite my protests, pulled me into the Guest Wing. Immediately we found ourselves in the middle of a big crowd. A crowd full of Outcasts.
"This was a bad idea...." I whispered through clenched teeth.
"Since when were any of my ideas bad?"
"Since forever."
"No they weren't! If anything," she turned on me, "- MINE are amazing, and YOURS are STUPID!"
Suddenly, the whole hallway became very quiet. "Uh oh."
A boy stepped forward. He had an eye patch over his left eye, and his face was split into a mean grin. "Look who we have here..."
"Yeah, I'm seeing myself, my sister, and a whole crowd of outcasts. What's wrong with your eyes, you blind?" My sister said, stepping forward.
"Stop it!" I whispered to my sister.
She spun on me, "I've been waiting months to try that out! Good one, isn't it?"
"Yes, but he's looking angry...."
"So what?" She strode up to him and jabbed him in the chest, "You better leave us royals alone, or you gonna have another eye missing!"
The boy clenched his teeth and let out a very unintelligible grunt, "WHAT?!"
"You deaf sister? Oh. I mean brother, person, ok whatever. You DEAF AND DUMB - THING?!"
I couldn't help but smile. I myself was just barely containing myself. I wanted to scream my head off too.
The boy raised an eyebrow and then cracked his knuckles and rolled his neck. He sneered.
"OH YEAH?! YOU THINK THAT GONNA SCARE ME?! YOU THINK YOU ALL MACHO?!!!! I COULD CRACK MY KNUCKLES TOO! SEE?" and with that she set off cracking her knuckles until she couldn't anymore. "OR ARE YOU STILL BLIND?!"
"I gotta film this." I muttered, and whipped out my phone. I began the camera, "Wait till Akash sees this. He's gonna have a new role model to look up to. Gotta admire that."
"That's it." The boy said. He raised a big meaty fist to bring it down.... and then with a flash he got burned to a crisp.
"Nice one!" I said.
"Really? I've been practicing! All my teddy bears are fried now!"
"What teddy bears?"
"Oh. I mean Akash's teddy bears."
"I got this on film..." I said.
"Uh oh."
Just then there was a shout. A girl strode forward, all dressed in armor. I mean, who does that? It's already hot in here! Does she want to become a kebab or what?!
"What's happening here?" She growled.
"That... GIRL just used her powers on me!" The boy whined.
"Girl? Oh, suck it up." The girl replied.
"But - but- can't you tell your mom or something? It's not FAIR!" he pouted.
"Not so tough now ARE YOU?!" My sister said. She rolled her neck unsuccessfully. She winced. "Whatever, I'm still intimidating."
"Intimidating? Who uses vocab like that?" The girl said, turning on us.
"ME!" My sister said, shoving her way forward. "I AM the reading goddess!" She flipped her hair. "MOI! THE READING GODDESS! FEAR ME!" She turned around to me and whispered, "Like my french?"
"Very good." I said, giving her thumbs up.
My sister turned back around, "SO yeah. Fear me."
The girl sneered. "You're lucky I'm not allowed to fight, or you'll be losing that attitude missy."
"EXCUSE ME?!!!!!!!!"
"While you may be a pathetic reading goddess, I am soon to be leader of the Outcasts. I am the daughter of the leader anyway."
So this was my rival. Ha. Well, it was time for me to get my act on. WHat better way than to start a fight with my rival? I was already gonna fight her later on, why not start now and finish later?
I shoved my way past my sister. "Don't you DARE call my sister PATHETIC, you MINDLESS WANNABE!"
"What?!" she said. Sharp and crisp, that's all she said.
"Don't tell me you're deaf too." I let out a sharp laugh.
She grit her teeth, "And who are you to challenge ME?!"
"Well, about that, I am gonna battle you later so yeah, that's me." I guess I ran out. Wait, not yet. I had one really good insult. But my sister beat me to it.
"THAT'S RIGHT!" my sister yelled. "YOU'RE JUST A SLIMY, WIMPY, SHRIVELED UP WORM OF AN OUTCAST!"
The girl's mouth dropped open. "MOOOOOOOOOOOM!" she yelled, shaking with rage.
Immediately a lady pushed her way to our clearing in the crowd. "What's wrong?!" she barked.
And then, with another shout, Akash and Prakash wormed their way in. "YOU BOTH are the cause of all this ruckus?" Prakash said, eyes wide.
I shrugged. "Why not?" I hit stop on the recording and pocketed my phone. "You should've seen it. I got it on camera too."
"Great!" Akash said.
"No, NOT GREAT!" Prakash said, rounding on Akash. "We're ALL gonna get grounded!"
"What? We didn't do anything!" Akash said pouting.
"It's not gonna look like that to Dad. We should probably leave." Prakash said.
"And let us take the blame?" I said, at the same time Akash said, "And miss this?!"
"Whatever. I'm leaving." Prakash said. But the Outcasts wouldn't let him through. "Uh..." He started to look uneasy.
"Don't worry," me and my sister both said at once, "We can take them." And immediately after, "JINX!"
"Uh... Guys?" Akash said. He was eyeing the girl, who looked like she was going to tear her hair out.
But we were too busy, "DOUBLE JINX! TRIPLE JINX! QUADRUPLE JINX! QUINTOPLE JINX! HEX-"
"SHUT UP!!!!! ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The hallway immediately went into a eerie silence. Good thing our parents were at work, down in the mortal world making sure things went smoothly. We all focused on the girl. The twitching, bubbling, and VERY angry girl. Her nostrils flared, and she looked over the top, if you know what I mean.
"Two words," I said, "Anger. Management." And that was the final straw.
She busted her last nerve. "AAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!" She pulled out a very killer looking dagger and ran at me. I mean, who carries a dagger around with you everywhere? This girl was crazy.
Akash pulled me down and in one swift move blasted her with a fire ball. Prakash stood frozen, his mouth hanging open. He raised one finger slowly, "Uh, I'm not sure you're supposed to use your -" The hallway erupted into chaos. "-pow - ers." He finished.
