"Imagination is a quality that was given to man to compensate him for what is not. The sense of humor was given to console him for what is" -Oscar Wilde

Rey and Whimsy live unique and separate lives, each battling their own demons. When these two meet, there is a connection as unique as both of them that neither of them understand.

Rey is a self-harming teenager. His mother left him and his father. His father is never around, and when he is, he's yelling, smoking, high, or suffering a hangover. Rey is bullied at school and can't think of a reason to want to live.

Whimsy is also a teenager. Four years prior she had been sent away from her family to live at a mental institution for youth. She feels alone most all the time, and despite her mental disorders, is conscientious of her surroundings to an extent. Tired of being treated like she's worthless, she runs away.

The two meet one February day in New York at a bus stop. Whimsy intrigues Rey until he is addicted to the escaped asylum patient she is.

(Author's Note: This is the once edited versions of the first draft, meaning that this is the second draft, it will be much better than the first draft, but it will be a longer wait to see chapters in here than if you were to just read through the many unedited chapters in the first draft which can be located on my profile. Some parts of the first draft might not exactly match up on the second draft but I assure you, you might not want to wait for an edited chapter during certain events in the book)
