*Fourteen years ago*

"Harry?" The blonde lady, Jewel said calmingly to the little boy that was currently asleep on her couch. "Harry, wakey, wakey." She shook his shoulders lightly.

Little Harry woke up lazily, his tiny eyelids fluttering open to reveal innocent green eyes. He yawned and he stretched before he could say anything, never being one of a morning person."Did you find my mum?" His eight-year-old voice came into aspect as he woke up from his slumber.

"No, hunny, we haven't." Jewel looked at the boy sadly, her deep blue eyes filled with remorse for the child. "I need to take you to your new home, for now anyway..." Jewel said cautiously, not sure of how Harry would react to the new information.

Harry knitted his small brows together in confusion. Why would he need a new home? His mum was surely to come back... wasn't she? "Why must I go to a new home? I already have a home." He spoke quietly. He wasn't angry or upset, simply curious.

"Well, I'm a police lady, Harry... I can't have a little boy staying with me, and until we find your mum you can't stay alone at your house." Jewel tried to spell out her words carefully, a situation like this was always delicate.

Harry still didn't understand. He's been alone before... not for very long, but he knew how to make himself meals, and he knew where the snacks were in the cupboard, so why couldn't he at least be in his own home? What was so bad about that?

"I don't expect you to really comprehend what's going on right now, but I need you to be good for me... can you do that, Harry?" Jewel asked, rubbing small, comforting circles on Harry's back.

Harry nodded his head, his tight brown curls bouncing with the movement.

"Good, now do you have everything you want with you?" She asked as she peered down at Harry, looking at his airplane pjs and small blue bunny that was in his hand along with a blanket.

"Yes." He spoke quietly.

"Okay, hunny. Let's get going."

"Is my new mum going to be nice, just like my mum?" Harry asked as soon as they got onto the road. He was seated in the back of the black SUV police car that Jewel owned, strapped in by a seatbelt that seemed too big for him. When Jewel didn't respond Harry asked more questions. "When will I see my mum again? Do you know who my new mum is? Does she have any kids?" His questions swarmed in Jewel's head, almost making her dizzy.

She chuckled, trying to keep the curious little boy calm. "Your new mum is very nice. She's one of my old friends, so yes, I know her. And I also believe that she has two other boys around your same age."

Harry's round face lit up when he heard about the two other boys. Jewel had mentioned that one was their child and the other one was adopted out of foster care. He didn't know what foster care was, but he felt as if he'd already asked Jewel too many questions and although he was curious, he didn't want to make her angry or annoyed.

It felt like hours before they finally met their destination, Harry was too excited to meet his new brothers to sleep. Jewel laughed and talked with him on the way there, learning more about the bubbling boy who was too happy considering his conditions. 'Maybe he just didn't get what was happening?' She kept thinking.
