Who Are You: Karli

Today....was the first day of school

The last year at high school

And stuff......are gonna get funky

Karli: Mom, I'm gonna ride my bike to school today!

Meet Karli....
Blue eyes, dark dark brown hair. Body of a perfect teenager. She's perfect....or so I thought

Karli: *stares at photo of her and a girl in her class* Oh Izzy....this is gonna be a wreck of a year

Izzy....is her crush. Yes it is a girl....yes she is popular AND has a boyfriend

They talk but they don't talk

Whenever they talk, Karli gets a whole lot weird. Now you know why

Karli hasn't publicly announced she is gay but she promised herself to do ot this year

Plus she is gonna tell Izzy that she likes her

Already in for a rough one aren't ya!

: Ok do you have your lunch?

Her mom, Ms. Octiva, is a single parent to Karli and her 19 year old brother Jonah

Jonah: Ah! Little sis gotta go to school of the dumb people *plucks at Karli's nose*

Karli: Shut up! You do too!

Jonah: Nope! Not until next week *plucks her nose again*

Karli: Uhhh! Find a hobby

Jonah: Find your life, little sis!

Her fist was ready and right before she hit him, their mom interrupted the fight

Ms. Octiva: Stop it you two! Karli get to school and Jonah sit back down on the couch!

Karli marches out the door with her lunch and her book bag

Her mom rushes out the door quickly though

Ms. Octiva: If your dad calls you at school remember to tell him tha---

Before she finished, Karli finishes for her

Karli: "That I'm at work" Ok ok got it

Ms. Octiva: Thank you. I love you

Karli: *smiles* Love you too

Karli bikes off

Her mom and dad split up the past summer

Her dad was caught with 3 other women in a car with drugs and alcohol

They sent him to jail over night and when he came home sober the next day, his stuff was packed

They only talked once and it was only about how they were gonna deal with Karli and Jonah

Jonah will be headed off to college next week so they have to get that sorted for him

He was held back once because his whole dad situation got him to become....well....not good

He was assigned medication and now he's better

And Karli is starting her last year in high school so they need to sort out all of her savings for college and they need to find a way to pay for that

Plus as a part of the soccer team, they need to pay for traveling expenses so it is a hard journey

But...they will get through it
