Ryuku's POV
Morning sunlight streaked into my window. I groaned as it blinded me and I blinked and moved out of the light. I slipped out of bed and just got ready for school. I looked around the house before leaving but it seems my brother already left... Oh... Right...I never said I had a brother before did I? Well, he goes to the high school I used to which is nearby Akademi High. Why did I swap schools?... Reasons...
Those aren't important right now. I left my house with all I needed and walked at my own pace to school. I got more on time to today, how much? Well, I could see the delinquents disappearing over the top of the hill to the school so, better right?I just decided to sit on my own on the path for awhile. I didn't really feel like having to dodge around conversations yet. Time flew by pretty fast and I heard the bell ring causing me to sigh, time for "fun". I walked right through the front doors nonchalantly. I made my way up to my class but as I rounded the final corner...
BAM!
I ended up bonking heads with somebody.
Umeji's POV
"Fuck"I let out a quick curse as my body bumped into somebody elses.
"Goddammit watch where you're going!"
I glared at... Ryuku? The newbie's late again?
"I think we BOTH need to watch ourselves"
I saw a sly grin crook the corners of his mouth and I scowled.
"Shut up and fuck off already"
"We're literally going to same place"
That shut me up. He was right, we were in the same class, so I decided to reword what I said.
"Then how about this, stay out of my way if you know what's good for you"
I started going to class not caring about his response... Until I saw a quick flash of red and the corner of my jacket was grabbed, my ear getting pulled to Ryuku's mouth.
"Will do... But I suggest taking your own advice... Umeji Kizuguchi"
His voice was both calm and threatening at once. The fact he knew my full name is what truly creeped me out though...
Time skip
Ryuku's POVClass was pretty much normal... Super... Boring. There was only one interesting thing... Kind of. The teacher announced a schoolwide project where you were randomly paired with somebody in a different class. It was an interesting idea to say the least but to make such a hype over just another project? Ick!
The teacher kept me back today to talk about whatever... School uniforms? Ha, hell no. I've never worn a school uniform and I never fucking will. As soon as she let me go I immediately went to the most isolated spot I could find for lunch... Which was outside behind a tree near some hedge maze. I sat for awhile but I could feel a presence nearby. I hid a small grin on my face, pretending to be oblivious.
Umeji's POV
This new kid... I didn't know what to think of him. Geez I felt like a goddamn stalker right now... I should just stop. I turned away for a second to quickly overview my life choices before turning back and... He was gone!?"Are you infatuated or something?"
I jumped at a voice as I turned around to find Ryuku's sly grin right in my face. I scowled at him but before I could say anything he let out a verrrry large sigh and spoke.
"Listen, I want to make it through high school mentally sane. I understand I'm hard to read and all but if you can pique down your curiosity and stick with your gang I'd appreciate it"
I stared at him... He knew exactly why I was watching him. I guess he's used to people not knowing what to make of him. Ryuku was already walking away so I just returned to my gang. I understood what Ryuku had said but... He was the first one to pique my my curiosity in a long time. Not to mention he's the first person in a long time who I actually have some kind of respect for.
He's much better than most people in this damn school.
