Hello, my name is Dare, I am 18 years old and I am graduating high school in 2 weeks. For a while, I have had a crush on another boy in my class, his name is Gare. My friends all left me when they found out that I had a crush on Gare. They think it is wrong for a boy to like another boy. My only friend is named Michaela, she respects me because her cousin Billy is married to a British guy named Nick. They told me that their love story is like mine. Billy liked Nick but never knew how to tell him. He would wave to Nick in the halls and he would wave back, as he waved back, Billy's heart would beat faster. He told Nick before graduation and they became a couple. That is like me and Gare, I walk in the hall, to see him on his cell phone, I would wave at him, he would notice, blush a bit and wave back. Always I felt butterflies and my heart beating rapidly. I think it is time I told him that I like him. Michaela gave me support all through it. One day, I see him in the halls after school, nobody was there. Michaela kinda got impatient and shoved me into Gare, making us both fall. I quickly stood up and ran crying. I can't do this, I am stupid, why would he ever love someone like me. I got to a local park and sat on a bench.  I cried. Then I heard some footsteps to notice it was Gare. I look away. "Hey, is this seat taken?" he asks me. "N-no it isn't but what do you want, to yell about me falling on you, falling in love with you?!" I told him, crying. As he sat down, he wrapped his arm around me. "Don't be sad, I'm not mad at all. I know how you feel. My parents thought it was wrong for me to love a boy and left me back at home as they moved to Kansas. I sacrificed my family for love. Same with my friends, they left as well, same reason as my parents," he told me. "But who I loved is the best part of it," he said, turning away. He looked embarrassed for it is. "Who is it then? The one you love," I ask only to be grabbed in Gare's arms. "It's you!  And you never noticed!" he tells me. We break out of the hug and he leaned closer to my face and kissed me. It was a total shock at first but I soon melted into the kiss. He risked his family and friends for me. Then I hear my phone buzz. If it was Michaela, she could wait, best friends may have your back always, but relationships are stronger in a way
