*Sal feeds Mermie some more grass*
Mermie: "Mrawr!"
Sal: "You're so cute!"
*Sal picks Mermie up and cuddles with him*
~Two and a Half Hours Later~
Mermie: "Raw..."
Sal: "You hungry? I'm getting tired of these books."
*Sal puts a book back on the shelf*
Sal: "I'm hungry, too. I should get Jackson."
Mermie: "Jawr?"
Sal: "Yes, Jackson."
Mermie: "Rawr.."
*Sal leaves the hatchery to get Jackson*
*Jackson and Sal get back to the hatchery, then Sal goes to the bakery to get her and Jackson some food, then to get Mermie some fish*
Jackson: "Hey, Mermie."
Mermie: "Jawr?"
Jackson: "Yes, it's me, Jackson. I read that ice worms were intelligent creatures."
Mermie: "Rawm?"
Jackson: "You're cute. Sal should be here any minute with our food."
*A couple minutes later, Sal comes back with a bucket halfway filled with fish and a couple of muffins*
Sal: "Who's hungry?"
Jackson: "Me!"
Mermie: "Mrawr!"
Sal: "That's what I thought."
*Sal hands Jackson a muffin and sets the bucket on the floor next to Mermie*
Jackson: "There should be a drawer somewhere with a knife in it, I used to cut meat up a lot. Now that I think about it, it's in that cupboard."
*Jackson points to a cupboard*
*Sal grabs a knife from the cupboard, puts a fish on a small table, then starts cutting the fish*
Jackson: "Don't get any scales or bones in there."
Sal: "Got it."
Jackson: "And make them small chunks."
Sal: "Yup."
*Sal crouches down with a piece of fish in her hand and puts it in front of Mermie*
Mermie: "Mawr?"
Sal: "Come on.."
*Sal waves the chunk of fish in front of Mermie*
*Mermie eats the fish*
Sal: "Good boy! Hey Jackson, do you think we could teach him tricks?"
*Jackson, halfway through eating his muffin, was caught off guard and was not prepared for this question*
Jackson: "I'm eating my muffin."
Sal: "Yeah, I'm hungry, too. Just swallow and answer my question."
Jackson: "Yeah, ice worms are very intelligent. I bet we could teach him some tricks."
Sal: "Cool!"
*Sal feeds Mermie some more fish, cleans up, then eats her muffin*
