~The Next Day~
*Sal knocks on the door and Jackson opens it, holding a rose*
Sal: "Oh, my.."
Jackson: "It's for Valentine's Day."
Sal: "But, that isn't f-"
*Sal remembers that she lied about when Valentines Day was*
Sal: "Oh yeah, that's right it is today."
*Sal grabs the rose*
Jackson: "by the way, thanks for all the help you do around here."
*Sal blushes a little*
Jackson: "From your surprise, I can tell that you forgot it was today"
*Jackson laughs a little bit*
Sal: "Yeah, I actually have something in my workshop for you, but like you said, I forgot."
Jackson: "Why don't you go grab it and meet me back here? Afterward, I need some help getting my bed back in here."
Sal: "Okay, I'll be back here in a minute or two."
*Sal leaves the hatchery and walks over to her workshop*
*She gets inside and grabs the rose with the note on it from the other day*
Sal: "Should I keep this note on? Yeah, it'll show him how I really feel.."
*Sal reads over the note and closes it*
*Sal skips happily back to the hatchery and knocks on the door*
*Jackson opens the door with a smile*
Sal: "Here you go!"
*Sal hands Jackson the rose*
Jackson: "Hey, a note!"
*Sal blushes as Jackson starts to read the note*
Jackson: "'Thank you for being my friend and always being there for me, but I want a bit more.' A bit more? Uhh.."
*Jackson blushes and carries on*
Jackson: "'I've always had a special spot for you in my heart and I always will, but I don't think being only friends is doing it for me.' Uhh, Sal?"
*Sal blushes*
Sal: "Just keep reading.."
Jackson: "Okay.. 'I think we need to take this relationship to the next level and actually be in a relationship. XO, Sal.'"
*Jackson looks up at Sal and into her eyes*
Jackson: "Sal, I don't think I want to be in an actual relationship with you."
*Sal feels a sinking feeling inside*
Jackson: "I like being your friend and I think it should stay that way.."
Sal: "B-but th-the rose.. Why'd you give me a rose if you didn't like me?"
Jackson: "I do like you, but I like you as a friend."
*Sal looks down at her feet, takes the rose from Jackson's hand, and starts ripping the petals off*
Jackson: "Sal, it's okay."
*Jackson takes the rose back to stop Sal from ripping any more petals off*
Sal: "I think I should go.."
*Sal opens the door*
Sal: "good luck getting the bed in here.."
*Sal closes the door*
Jackson: "I've never seen her so sad.."
Mermie: "Raww rawr!'
Jackson: "I'm not going after her, Mermie."
Mermie: "Rawr!"
*Jackson picks the rose petals up form the floor and tosses then at Mermie*
Jackson: "Here, have a snack."
*Mermie wiggles out of his container and makes his way over to the door*
Mermie: "Mraw!"
Jackson: "Mermie, no."
*Mermie bites Jackson's left ankle*
Jackson: "Ow! Mermie, no!"
Mermie: "Mraw! Sawl!"
*Jackson picks Mermie up and takes him to his container*
Jackson: "Fine, I'll go talk to her."
Mermie: "Mraw!"
*Jackson walks out of the hatchery and over to sal's workshop, then knocks on the door*
Sal: "Not in the mood!"
Jackson: "Come on, please?"
*Sal locks the door loudly*
Jackson: "Fine. I just wanted to say I'm sorry. You and I are to very different people. You are a bit crazier and more spontaneous than me. I like being organized. You express more emotions than I do, and I basically only love four people, my mom, my dad, my little sister, and you."
*Sal unlocks the door and opens it*
Jackson: "Part of the reason I don't want to be in a relationship is because you remind me so much of my little sister. It'd make me feel like I was in a relationship with her, and that'd just be weird."
*Sal hugs Jackson*
Sal: "You love me?"
*Jackson hugs sal back*
Jackson: "Of course I do."
