this is just gonna have some junghope fluff, okay? calm your nipsjungkook yawned, his tired eyes still being locked onto his computer screen. the occasional sound of clicking and typing played throughout the room, while the only thing that surrounded kookie's ears were his own playlist of his favorite songs. he had been up since 11 o'clock last night, and currently, it is 3:16am. he was too busy trying to search for more information and writing lyrics for songs simultaneously yet relied on energy alone - no caffeinated beverages, no loud noises, just energy.
thankfully, he had finally gotten somewhere with his research. he had already cracked three major codes towards the KHA's government files for it made him feel rather proud of himself for sticking around this long.
"jungkookie?"
"hey, hyung."
"why are you still up, huh?"
the younger man didn't reply, only placing his head into his hand as he paid attention to the screen. hoseok frowned, stepping away from the doorway to enter the room, watching him, how determined and ambitious he was. even though it didn't seem like it, jeongguk was actually a hard worker who took didn't really take exceptions towards short-cuts, unless it were to be truly necessary.
that's exactly why hoseok admired the maknae, however, sometimes he may tend to push his body over the edge of it's limits.
hoseok quietly stepped over to the younger male, plopping right next to him to observe how he worked. a small smile came in from the tired male, however it disappeared as quick as it came. jeongguk was saving codes, checking to see if dangerous hackers were seeping through the firewall and typing in networks that gave better and faster access. "did you get through their protection software?", the elder male inquires softly.
"almost. it'll take a bit longer, hyung.", jungkook replied slowly before giving off a small yawn, the bags under his eyes slowly being formed yet they were more than noticeable. hobi's lips curved their way into a frown, linking his arm around the other man, playfully poking his side.
"kookie, you need to rest. you've been up for too long, besides, don't you think you've worked enough?", hoseok urged, only to get the sound of silence. after waiting a couple of moments, the elder got fed up, pressing the power button on his monitor and disconnected his flash drive. "that's enough. don't worry, you have a backup file."
jungkook winced at the sudden darkness since his eyes had been entranced into a bright screen for over an hour. without any protesting, the maknae released a heavy breath then dragged himself over to the nearby bed ⎯ landing face first into the cool, welcoming sheets. hobi smiles kindly, climbing into bed with him.
the maknae peeped an eye open as a grin traced on his thin lips. "you know you have a fansign to go to tomorrow? should i come with you to protect you, no?"
"i'll be fine. they'll be loads of security, anyways."
"security isn't reliable."
kookie scoots up, now laying chest to chest with his friend while moving somewhat closer to him. hobi only sighed, draping his arms around the other male for he already knew it was unwelcomed place for him to be especially since the position they put themselves in was a major risk factor to losing his life.
"trust me, i'll be fine. if anything happens, i will contact you immediately."
the younger male furrowed his brows in concern, his lips soon straightening out. jungkook always thought protecting hoseok was the best option so far, moreover it was his personal choice especially since he's known hoseok for years now so, he didn't mind putting his life on the line for him.
"alright, i guess. just promise me you'll be careful.", he grumbles, ever so slowly shutting his eyes earning a triumphant smile from his best friend.
"i will. goodnight, jungkookie."
"night, hyung."
