PARK BOGUM.

he was going to kill her.

how can she be so stupid?

i ran as fast as i could up the stairs, where i found the door i saw suhee enter earlier on.

i can only sleep at night after checking to make sure she's safe once, which is why i had followed her to this man's home in the first place.

but he was going to kill her.

he was going to kill someone important to me.

i slammed open the door, not hesitating a single time before charging straight at the man pointing a gun at suhee.

i was quick to kill him. it only took me ten seconds before he stilled, seemingly dead, slumped on the ground.

i turned around, curious of why suhee was so silent all this time. but i was surprised to see a knife in her hands, that were trembling violently. she wore a dark and angry expression.

suhee charged at me with an unexpected power, and my back hit the wall painfully. i didn't understand why she was doing this.

it would only take her a few seconds to realize it was me—the man from yesterday. it's not a coincidence. it never was.

i've always been there for her.

KIM SUHEE.

"y-you..." i said through pants.

the man only smirked a little, which angered me even further. i held the knife tighter at his throat.

"w-who are you?!" i yelled. "why...why did you kill him?!" more tears ran down my face, especially after i realized i had befriended my love's killer the night before.

"he almost killed you." the killer responded. "how could you be so stupid?"

his response baffled me. "WHY DID YOU KILL HIM?!" i yelled louder, my hand trembling even more violently.

"do you hate it that much?" he asked.

"sungho...sungho...." i cried. "you killed him. i loved him."

the killer's eyes darkened. "he didn't love you. he was hurting you this entire time."

"how do you know?! WHO ARE YOU?!" i screamed.

"you wouldn't remember if i told you." he muttered. "otherwise, you would've remembered already."

i sobbed even more. "you...you—"

"i could kill you right now if i wanted to." the man said, his hands making their way around my neck, giving it a light squeeze—as if he was demonstrating his options. "but i would never hurt you."

i didn't understand. who was he? why does he keep appearing in front of me?

his surprisingly soft hands cupped both sides of my face, where he lightly brushed away my dripping tears with his thumb. "you could've died—"

i pushed away his hands with my free one. "tell me who the hell you are." i said roughly. "tell me before i kill you."

the killer's arms dropped beside him. "kill me then."

"kill me, suhee-ah."

my grip on the handle of the knife weakened for a second. "i never told you my name before."

the man only returned my response with an innocent smile. i hated it. "i know, suhee."

"suhee-ah!!!"

"suhee!!!"

my eyebrow furrowed as i felt a sickening flutter in my stomach. i hated it. i was remembering something but i couldn't remember. the man before me noticed this, and grabbed my wrist to stabilize me.

"let go..." i muttered painfully. "don't touch me."

"where is suhee?!"

"suhee-ah!! suhee-ah!!"

"guys, i'm right here!!"

those memories...i can't remember them...but i can at the same time.

"suhee? what's wrong?" he asked, grabbed my shoulders before i lost balance and fell to the ground. "suhee!"

"hyunbinnie-ah!"

"k-kang hyunbin..." i suddenly murmured, the name sliding off my tongue so easily, like i've said it a billion times before. i can't remember. i don't remember.

why can't i remember anything from those days?
