Chapter 2: There's a First For Everything
I was interrupted by my evil alarm clock, god I hate those things I don't people use them. The worst part is I was in the middle of an awesome dream; I hate when that happens. Before I got I up I was lying in my very comfortable bed just thinking to myself. I wonder how school will be, who will I meet, and are making friends easy or hard? These were the questions that continually flood my mind. While I was staring at the ceiling my mom decided to produce a loud ruckus that forced me out of bed. I trudged into my bathroom; I love my bathroom because the tiles were different shades of green and green is my favorite color. I stripped out of my night wear and stepped into the shower. The warm water felt so good on my tired skin, I know that warm water isn't the best for the skin but it wakes me up. After my very needed shower I put on a light grey T-shirt and white hoodie with black rigged jeans and rushed to the kitchen. My mom was cleaning the broken pieces of glass, so that was all the noise. I sat on my spot near a green plant and stuffed three pancakes down my throat. My mom makes the best pancakes they taste like god made them himself and send them through my mom onto Earth.
"Mom where's Jay" I asked my mother whom was still sweeping some microscopic shards of glass "Oh he left early, why is something wrong?" she answered sounding more concerned than she has to be. "No mom nothing is wrong its just he said he will give me a ride." I stated with a frown plastered on my face, I heard awful stories of people taking the bus or walking and I thought I could skip that because I had an older brother. "Mom does that mean I could use my flying power to get to school?" I pleaded trying my best to do a puppy dog face "No" my mom said sounding very annoyed "fine" I sighed. I hate all these rules I never get to use any of my powers like what's the point of having a very useful talent and never getting to use it and I don't get why we have to hide it too. Every time I bring up the subject they always pull the Salem Witches card its the 21st century iI think people would find someone different cool not threatening.
As I was walking to the bus stop I decided to disobey my mom by using my telekinesis to lightly hover over the pavement. I did get second glances from people walking near me but I think they thought they needed more sleep because all they did was rest they're eyes a little. When I finally got to the bus stop I was horrified by what I was seeing. The vehicle was filled by 14-16 year old's but they acted as they were 9 or 10. The students were very rude to each other and threw objects at everyone who dared talk to them, I think I even saw a paper airplane fly by, talk about movie cliche. I walked though the bus trying very hard not to touch these dirty teens I took a seat near the end. Across the thin aisle sat a boy, he looked around 15 he had short dark red hair and brown eyes it seemed like he doesn't like it here. While I was studying he turns his body to face me and says " hi I'm Michael and you are?" I was taken back by his forwardness like who says their name in the first sentence as they meet someone "um... I..I'm Ar..Aaron" I said fearful for my life, what if he's a child murder an I'm his next victim. "why do you look so scared I'm not gonna bite you" he said while holding back a chuckle. I countered " I know that but who says there name as the first sentence for a greeting? usually you ask the stranger their name for safety reasons" he looked weirded out still talked back "are you saying you're dangerous?". Now i was very frustrated "No, I'm saying its a normal person thing, how ironic" I whispered the last part to myself but he still heard me "what was that last part?" he said and I guess god was on my side because just then the bus came to a stop. Yay me.
I looked outside and I took a first look at my new school and I must say I was impressed it was pretty big. It had a modern feel to it but its not that noticeable. The outside was surrounded by a fence and and two gates were in between three statue like structures. The school's exterior walls were a dark tan color not the prettiest choice but this school really pulled it off. As I stepped out of the bus I noticed that the outdoor area is very small, the gaps between the entrances and exits were cramped it felt a little prison like as I walked to the gate Michael joins me, great the first friend I make I don't really like. Michael and I walk to the front doors and that's when I learn the school's name. written over the double doors it says Edward R. Murrow High School.
