Surprises

I show up at the hospital to surprise with me being there for the baby. I am happy that my best friend had his first kid. I ask Timmy for his room number. I make my way to the room and knock and then poke my head in the room. They are all surprised, I see the baby, she is sleeping. I walk into the room and see the baby. But before the baby, I saw Stephanie, she fidgets with her fingers. But whatever, the baby is so cute.

"I never expected you to come Kian!" She rans up to me and hugs me. I feel guilty but also happy she doesn't know.

"Yeah I just wanted to surprise you!" Her eyes light up.

"It was such a surprise because we just got our kids and then Nicole just had her baby. It's all just crazy and it's fricking Stephanie's birthday." I hate her rambling on so I just smile and nod. She notices I'm not paying attention and nudges me. I look at her, she makes that mad face, whenever she was mad with me.

"Sorry..." I feel watched, it was by Stephanie. I didn't notice how I dulled the mood but I sure did.

"Hey Kian..." Timmy shook my hand, he tightened his grib around my hand. I looked up at him and he let go. He returned back to his seat by Stephanie. Stephanie came up to me, I expected her to just kill me right then and there. But instead she hugged me, no nails digging in my back, she is going to be like a time bomb. Eventually she will explode.

"Okay you wanna see the baby?" Timmy said awkwardly. I nod. He hands her over to me, she has the most beautiful eyes.
