3/ Creep
I'm gonna fail, I'm gonna fail, yes I'm gonna faillll. Amelia hummed those words to herself over and over again as she flicked through her notes for her Biology exam.
"Why didn't I bother?" she groaned to herself as she put her head down on the book.
"Maybe because you're a smart so and so, who knows she'll ace the unnecessary exam anyway," said an unfamiliar husky voice.
"Do I know you?" Amelia asked sloppily, looking up confused at the random guy standing opposite her.
"No," he said simply and then added, "but that's not the question... the question is, do you know who you are lovey?" he asked with a playful smirk. His accent was slightly Northern, Amelia recognised it because she had a few Northerners in her lectures.
She looked at him; actually stared would be the right word. His hair was black, his skin white, his eyes a light brown, and he was tall, and pretty muscular. Tearing her gaze away from his body, Amelia looked the guy directly in his eyes and replied.
"Go away please," she said, going back to her book. She didn't know many people, only a handful from her lectures and Ruby, otherwise she wasn't into being chums with everyone, especially creepy men.
"Ha, I predicted you'd be hard to get through to Lia," he said leaning against the table, his arms crossed. He said 'Lia' so delicately as if the word would break if he had said it any louder. Frowning, trying to conceal her curiosity, Amelia looked back up at him and made a face. He wore black jeans, a dark grey jumper and biker books, his whole look complimented him and his aura, Amelia thought to herself. It was dangerously inviting.
"Lia?" she said, "That's not my name...you have the wrong person mate,"
"Yeah I know your name is Amelia, it's just too long to say," he said, not once did his lips stop smiling, they stayed that curved shape, "Mate," he added sarcastically.
"Ok, what do you want," she asked, snapping her book shut, "I have an exam and you standing here isn't exactly helping me concentrate," she said.
"I can be quite distracting and I like the fact you're straight to the point," he said winking. He was in no particular hurry and seeing Amelia squirm was a moment he wanted to sit back and thoroughly enjoy. He had held out on confronting her for a little too long and now that he finally was, he wanted to use every spare minute he had to poke out the girl beneath the exterior, "I want you," he said, still smiling. Amelia raised an eyebrow, ready to smack her book in his face but something stopped her, his smile was making the hair on the back of her neck stand up.
"How do you know my name?" She asked suspiciously.
"Ah, now that would be telling," he said wiggling his eyebrows.
"Ok, well then I'm done here," Amelia said picking up her books
"But I'm not," the guy said stepping forward and taking the book from Amelia's hand, he placed it neatly back onto the table. Amelia tried to shove him out the way, but for some reason her whole body was frozen. She couldn't move... at all.
"What is going on," she asked finding it hard to speak. She could fear slowly making it way in, however something told her she wasn't in great danger so stopped herself from hyperventilating.
For the first time in ages she had felt unusually cold, it wasn't the normal type of cold...it felt as though this cold was piercing her skin and seeping into her inner body, freezing any sort of heat... making it hard for her to move or even breathe.
"I'm not going to hurt you," he said softly, carefully placing a loose curl behind her ear, "and that's weak, you're showing your fear way too quick" he commented, his face a little scrunched up as though he was concentrating hard on something, he smelt of wood, sandalwood to be specific and it made Amelia giddy, "but," he paused and Amelia felt her body relax again, "you're pretty resilient, I'm surprised," he added.
"Ok, seriously, you're freaking me out, I have to go!" Amelia said scraping her chair against the floor and getting up, "leave me alone," she said her voice shaking.
The guy smirked and pulled her back by her arm, his grip was so strong Amelia felt like an iron hand was yanking her arm off. He stared right at her face, into her green eyes. Amelia looked straight back into his and held her breath. He couldn't be real, in fact, he could not be human. There was something so inhumane about him that it made her skin crawl... in excitement? In fear? Maybe both.
"You're like your mum. Rude and stubborn," he said a little harshly, loosening his grip Amelia started to pull away but he pulled her back, "but I like it" he added, before letting her arm go properly.
Feeling satisfied, he slowly walked backwards and then turned away, the smile that had been plastered on his face disappeared. He was enjoying this a little bit too much than he had expected.
Amelia stood there, shocked and watched him walk away and leave the library. She had no idea how long she stood there until Ruby came up behind her.
"What time is it? EXAM TIME!" Ruby whispered loudly. Noticing the lack of response from Amelia she turned to face her, "are you ok?" she asked.
Amelia looked from Ruby back to the library entrance hoping for the strange guy to come back, but he didn't.
"Mel, you're scaring me, what's wrong?" Ruby asked, shaking Amelia, "MEL!" she said again loudly, causing people in the library to turn around and scrunch their nose in disgust at the noise.
Amelia couldn't understand who that creep was, he knew her name, he had spoken to her as if he knew her, and he had mentioned Amelia's mum... someone Amelia herself had never met, let alone heard of.
Who was he? She thought to herself.
"Nothing," Amelia said composing herself and wiping the beads of sweat off her forehead, "nothing,"
