"Yeah ok, I get the point, the problem is I don't have the money to pay you right now, my housemate, has the money, but she is off on holiday!" Amelia said as politely as she could to her Landlord on the phone. She was holding her phone to her ear with one hand and struggling to hold her purse and hot chocolate cup with the other.
"Money by the end of this week or you can spend Christmas with your dog on the street," her landlord said and with that he cut off.
"For Gods sake!" Amelia growled fumbling with her phone and shoving it in her bag, "Why can't anything just go bloody..." she wasn't able to finish her sentence and instead found herself covered in her hot chocolate, "WATCH where you're going!" she yelled at the passing bloke, who didn't bother apologizing for barging into her.
"Got yourself into a little sticky mess haven't you," said a familiar voice, a voice Amelia had been thinking about way too much for the past few days.
Purposely not acknowledging him, Amelia put down her bag on the nearest table and grabbed a tissue; a Costa waiter walked up to her and passed her cloth.
"Oh because that's really going to take this stain out," she snapped taking the cloth and wiping her front. The waiter made a face and walked off. Instantly feeling bad for snapping, she sighed and closed her eyes. Ever since Ruby had stormed out, things had been going from bad to worse and from worse to bloody well horrible.
"A thank you wouldn't have hurt," spoke the voice again, this time he was much closer.
"What do you want?" Amelia asked, looking up at him and once again her breath being taken away by his strange beauty. A million things went through her mind, so many questions that needed answering, so many words to throw at his face. Nothing was his fault, but she needed someone to blame and his cocky smile was definitely asking for it.
"Like I said last time, you," he said watching as Amelia rubbed her coat angrily, "You are quite...hot headed aren't you," he observed.
"You're a creep do you know that?" She said throwing the cloth at him and picking up her bag.
"No, not really, I've been called other things though," he said winking and putting the cloth down delicately.
"Like what, freak?" she said as she made her way out the café.
"No, dashing" he said walking behind her, holding the door for an elderly woman, who flashed him a huge grin. Winking at the woman, he followed Amelia across the road.
"Please stop following me," Amelia said as she marched down the pavement.
"Nope, not until you actually stop and speak to me," he said, casually walking behind her, clearly not bothered by her speed. The way he walked was so graceful but bold, Amelia could not help notice how perfect his every move was, even the way he moved his arm, it had some sort of rhythm to it. He was quite the opposite to Amelia, who found it difficult to walk in a straight line or co-ordinate any part of her body.
"Well then you'll be walking for a while."
"My pleasure."
"Creep,"
"Handsome one of course,"
"ERGH, leave!" she yelled stopping dead in her tracks. The guy rubbed his jaw trying to suppress his smile; he needed to remind himself what he was here for, but he really couldn't help it. Her reaction to his teasing was all too inviting.
"A while huh?" he mocked.
"ERGH!" Amelia huffed and turned around to walk away but he grabbed her by her arm and pulled her back, her face just inches away from his.
