I can't believe I'm going to be fucking late.
Of course, only I would be late to an event that could change the rest of my life. The most important event I've ever been apart of, may I add. Curse that damned alarm clock, I should've known that it would break the morning of my audition. I've had that trusty clock since I started school, and it never had let me down. Until now, that is.
That's just my type of luck.
As I'm running down the busy streets of Seoul, I check my watch. The digital numbers read 1:27 PM, and unfortunately my audition is at 1:30. Unable to stop, I manage to read the blurred streets signs passing by. Three more blocks under three minutes? Sounds like a challenge. Thank God I'm wearing my athletic shoes. I push myself to run faster, stumbling through the crowded and most likely injuring a few innocent civilians who were in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong person.
I. *huff* Cannot. *huff* Miss. *huff* This. *huff*
In the distance, I can see the towering building in which I'm heading towards. As it gets closer, I can read that "Big Hit Entertainment" is written in bold letters above the huge archway, obviously the main entrance. Now running as fast as I can, I check my watch one last time, 1:29. At this point, I don't care what I would have to do. I needed to enter that building on time. I continue to push people to the side, receiving harsh glances and crude words.
As I approached the main entrance, I slowed down to a quick pace. I didn't want to seem like a maniac in front of possible employers. Running my hand through my hair, I attempt to look presentable as I entered the building. I could tell my face was beat red, and that my mascara had started to run due to the heat, but I didn't care. I made it just in time.
You have arrived at your destination.
I knew to enter the last door on my left on the right corridor from the email I was sent after Big Hit accepted my application. Now, it was my time to show them what I've got. Entering the room, all eyes turn to me. Me, in my sweaty, messy state.
"Lee Jae-Eun?" A voice startles me, coming from my immediate right. I turn to see an unfamiliar man standing right next to me. He looked to be in his mid 40's, but seemed to have aged very well. He was handsome, with a few grey streaks in his hair. I then noticed his facial expression, giving me a disapproving look. How does this man know me?
"Uh, yes. That is me?" I hesitate, as all eyes were still focused on me. I attempt to rub away the smudged mascara, and tame my hair by quickly running my hands through it once more. Glancing back at the older man next to me, I wait for his response.
"You're lucky, the live auditions are running late today. But know that, if you are accepted, your tardiness will not be accepted. With that being said, I'm excited to see your talents. Please, be seated."
Wow, okay. What a tough crowd.
Honestly, though, I don't blame him for disproving. Typically, I'm not this big of a mess. And everyone here in comparison seems to be better candidates for what I'm auditioning for. When I first heard about Big Hit holding dance auditions, I couldn't believe it. For the past few years, they've been too busy and too full to accept any new trainees. All my life, all I could ever imagine myself doing as I got older was dancing. There's something about music, it seems to enter my body and control my muscles. And, thankfully, I know how to control my movement. When I was in school, I would do nothing but dance in my free time. But, being an outcast never helped me follow my dreams. So, instead of attending after school classes for dance, I taught myself. This way, no one could make fun of me if I messed up. And, in return, I could dance to whatever I want, however I wanted.
