I looked behind me at Angel and in that instant, a small bolt of lightning came out of the sky and hit the ground right next to me where the Count was standing. In that blink of an eye, there was nothing there except a cloud of smoke and from the smoke a giant black bat flew into the night sky. Angel and I looked at each other and just like I mentally connected to my dragon, I had the same connection with Angel and with the Count! I could hear his demands and saw Angel jump on the back of Sapphire and say: "Well, let's get to work!"
I jumped on the back of Taridon and Angel and I flew off into the moonlit night. As we rode many miles we became stronger together with our dragons. The bonds that we were forming made me feel like I had known Angel all my life and Taridon had been my pet for just as long. However, my thoughts went quickly back to my job as we flew closer to the ground to land next to a cemetery. Angel and I walked away from the dragons and into a dense forest that was next to the cemetery. The wind was blowing and we could hear the old trees cracking in the wind and the light from the moon was bright enough to light our path. We came upon what we thought was an old abandoned shake until we saw a small candle light in the window. As we walked closer, the door swung open and out came a werewolf! Fangs glistening with blood from its last meal, growling loudly and charging at Angel and I! I pulled my sword at the same time that Angel did and we both swung our swords and we both hit the werewolf! He fell to the ground and I went over and stood over him and said:
"I am here for your soul for my master. Know before you die that the great Count Drewel sends his regards!"
With that I bent down and bit his arm and strong smoke filled my nose as blood filled my mouth. I put my lips to the end of the sword and it seemed to suck everything out of me! The blood filled what looked like a vial in the shaft of the sword and the smoke, which was his soul, went into another vial and my sword began to glow with black flames!
Our first job was complete and we walked silently back to our pets and again we were off and on to our next job.
