"We should find a place to rest before the sun comes up." I said to Angel while looking at the light that was starting to slowly crawl over the horizon

"I agree, I know that vampires can't stand up to sun light but I don't know about us." said Angel.

After a little while I spotted a cave. When we landed I looked inside the cave to make sure that it was uninhabited.  I was pleased to see that the only thing in the cave were a few fruit bats that were settling in after a night of feasting.  It looked perfect for what we needed so we entered the cave to make it our home for the day.

When we entered the dragons closed the cave opening with two boulders. I cleared a spot in the back where it was the darkest and placed down the cots we had in our saddle bags.  I then started a small fire so we would not get chilly then got the dragons to lay down and rest for the day. As I was doing this, Angel was bathing herself in a waterfall that was in the cave a bit closer to the entrance but was out of the fire light. After she was done,  Angel and I sat by the fire and it was then that I really got a good look at her face.  Her features were flawless!  She took my breath away and I found myself stumbling for words to speak to her.  Working and flying together with a purpose was totally different than sitting right beside her with the flickering firelight showing all the definitions of her face....she was beautiful! She had long silky brown hair. She also had the bluest eyes I had ever seen as blue as the full moon reflecting off of a still blue water lake. She stirred emotions inside me that I did not even know I had.

"Tell me about what happened to your mother?"

"What?"

"Tell me about your mother."

"She was an Egyptian queen who was the sister of the great god of the dead, Anubis. She was beautiful."

"What happened to her?"

"We were walking through the great grounds of the Egyptian underworld when we were attacked. I went to fight against them when one of them shoved me down and drove his sword through my eye. I blacked out and when I woke up, I found my mother lying dead and ripped into pieces.  My father came looking for us when he found me after that I don't remember what happened. All that I know was that my father was able to save my eye but I will always have this scar over my left eye. And every time I look in the mirror I remember the promise I made to myself and to my mother, that I will reap revenge on those that killed her and left me with this scar."

"I am so very sorry for your loss. I vow that I will do everything  in my power to help you get the revenge that you so rightfully deserve."

"Thank you, that means a lot to me."

For hours we talked and I found out she was like me, Egyptian God on one side and Greek God on the other. After a little while longer we said good day and faded into sleep.
