Flame was born as a mix of day and night. He had a fire burning in him, but his skin was as black as midnight, and he was a shapeshifter. He descended from the sky to the ground. He started off as the first lion, ferocious looking and a burning tail. He began going to virgin women's doorsteps with puppy dog eyes. He was lonely and wanted a wife. He had a kind heart, but he wanted the kindest wife he could get, so whoever would let him in and feed him or pet him, he would return to his true form and marry that woman.
He spent his first few years over by Oregon and Washington. Every women he encountered screamed and ran back into their houses. A few of them considered letting him in, but then they decided against it and slammed their doors in Flame's face. He wandered around for days, doing nothing.
One day, when he was in the middle of nowhere, he saw a bunch of wooden things. He had seen them a few times before but he couldn't remember the name of them. He sat down next to them and thought and thought and thought some more, but he couldn't remember what they were called, so he decided to get up and wander somewhere else. Right when he was about to leave, a women with mossy colored hair and dark colored skin came out from one of the wooden things.
"These things are called trees, if you are wondering. A big group of them is called a forest, and I'm their guardian, Forestia. Why don't you come back over here and look at them better?"
Flame thought that he might have just found what he was looking for, but he decided to investigate it further, so he went over to Forestia and pretended to look at the tree behind her. What he was actually doing was studying Forestia very closely, looking for a flaw, or a look of terror on her face, but he didn't find any.
Suddenly, Flame had an idea. He walked right over to Forestia and roared the loudest roar you have ever heard. Forestia didn't flinch, move, or start screaming. Instead, she smiled.
"You must be hungry little fella. Why don't we get you some food?"
After she said that, she bent down and scratched Flame's chin. Flame now knew that this was the woman for him, but he was hungry, so he followed Forestia. After a while, they ended up in the middle of the forest. There was a but there. Forestia went in and brought heaps of food out. Flame gobbled it all down willingly. Forestia turned around for a little, so Flame took the chance to turn into a man. Forestia turned towards him, caught sight that he wasn't a lion, then narrowed her eyes.
"Who are you and what did you do with my lion? He was standing right there. It's no use lying. Where did you put him? He means a lot to me."
Flame smiled and said,"I am your lion."
With that, he turned into a lion for a few moments, then back to his normal self. Forestia still had her eyes narrowed, however.
"You didn't say who you are. You tell me or I leave."
"I am Flame, son of Sky and Starling. I can shapeshift into anything I want to. I turned into a lion because he is the most ferocious and I wanted a brave and kind wife. You fit that description perfectly, so I decided to show you my true form. Now I have a question for you : will you marry me and live with me here forever?"
Forestia had a shocked looked on her face, but it quickly turned to excitement.
"Only if you make a deal with me: if I marry you and stay here forever, then you have to stay as a lion at day then turn into a man at night. I need you to stay as a lion because these annoying things called donkeys keep neighing, if you can call it that, and the trees are getting freaked out. You can definitely scare them off, and you'll probably soothe the trees, too. Will you accept?"
Flame thought long and hard about it, even though he knew his answer. He wasn't thinking of how he would answer, he was thinking of a sneaky plan. Soon he knew what he was going to do.
"I will accept, but only on one condition: We do this once in a while," Flame said as he tugged Forestia towards him and kissed her. She missed back. From the power of it, Flame burst into, well, flames. They didn't burn anything, but it still spread. Nothing was harmed, but it was still a horrific sight.
That was how the first forest fire started. So if you ever see or hear of a forest fire, know that it doesn't harm any trees or animals, it's just an illusion.
The next and final chapter is about their kid, Cobra, and Casina. Just so you know that i know, it's confusing. Like seriously? Starling marrying her great great grandpa? But then again, all of the gods are brothers and sisters and that stupid junk, but yes, it's weird. But if you think this is weird, check out the Greek gods. You don't want to know what's going on there. Well, see you in the next chapter, I hope!
Thank you for reading this. This is only my first book, and I'm a little young yet, but I appreciate getting just 35 views. I hope I get more, and I could stand a few more votes, but thanks anyways! Also, please comment. No one likes silent readers! Sorry, I have writers block, so the last chapter might take some time to finish.
