He comes up to me and says, "Can we talk?" I nod and we go into his room. I sit down on his bed. He starts pacing back and forth. "Zach, sit down you are making me nervous." I tell him. "Okay sorry." He says as he sits down and puts his head into his hands. "I don't know why, I don't know how, I cannot explain what I just did." He told me. I look down and my eyes fill with tears. He tries to put his arm around me but I push him off. "The worst part about this Zach, is that I was about to choose you." I say. I get up to go walk out but he grabs my hand sending nerves throughout my body. "Evelyn wait." He says, "Please just talk to me." "What is there to talk about Zach, you clearly don't know how to wait and be patient. You are probably just using me to get over your last girlfriend." I said. In the moment I felt like it was a good thing to say. But it wasn't. "Well I'm not using you, but I guess you can say that because you don't know." He said. "I don't know what?" I said. "My last girlfriend died." Zach said. "What?!?! When?!?!" I say. "About 6 months ago. We were in the car together, I was driving and we were singing together and then I ran a red light and then a car that was speeding at like 60 mph crashed into us but it was on her side so it was worse for her." He tells me starting to cry, "We were in the hospital and I was perfectly fine besides a few scratches. Her name was Everleigh by the way. But anyways, she didn't make it." I pull Zach into a hug. "Zach I'm so sorry for all of this. I shouldn't have said that. I feel horrible. I love you Zach." I say. He pulls away from our hug. "Evelyn you can't just say that because you know now. You can't just go from loving Corbyn to loving me." He says. This honestly really offended me. "Zach what the heck? I told you I was gonna choose you. Why are you being like this? Yes you told me what happened but that doesn't change my feelings about you! I love you Zachary Dean Herron. Nothing is gonna change that." I said. "You were gonna choose him?" Corbyn said. Uh oh. Guess I shouldn't have said that really loud with the door wide open.
