I woke up in the er, completely numb.
Nurses and Doctors surrounded me, poking me with things, wrapping things, sticking things. I fell back asleep.

When I awoke again, my parents were sitting next to me. Mom holding my hand. Dad's eyes filled with hope as I opened my eyes. My long brown hair felt tangled.
"I'm so sorry" Mom was crying.
"Mom, stop i'm fine, nothings in pain. When do I get to go home?"
"Tonight, hopefully."
"What happened?"
"You broke your nose, jaw, and there was glass in your face. Your leg is sprained. The doctors fixed everything though, and you should be good to go tonight." My dad answered, stoking my hair.
I fell asleep again.

I woke up, this time, in my room. My parents hovered over me, like they were on my birthdays. I have to use crutches to get myself to the bathroom. All the medication faded, and suddenly my whole body hurt again. I looked in the mirror.
I saw a monster.
