Chapter I.

"Im not perfect, but I keep trying. 'Cause thats what I said I would do from the start." - Hedley, Perfect.

The atmosphere was cold around the room, the silence was almost unbearable. It scared most of the fragile woman surrounded by darkness. It was never quiet. The silence was rare, always interrupted by heavy foot steps above or the terrifying screams of agony.

Rosalina showed no emotion on her pale face but was surprised by the silence in the basement. In her twelve years of being surrounded by rusty metal bars or darkness in the room, she could remember everything that happened here but silence. Every little detail of what they did to her. Rosalina knew not of what the monsters that haunted her dreams were but knew they weren't human. Anyone could see they were different, a blinded man or woman could.

Rosalina's trail of thought was interrupted by heavy, fast foot falls rushing towards the basement door from above. The old wooden door bust open at the top of the short stair case and a man Rosalina could recoginze in less then a second shuffled to her small cell with panic in his stone grey eyes. It was an unusual emotion Rosalina saw, the men either didn't show their emotions or the others always had angry or lustful eyes for her.

Fredrick, the man rushing towards Rosalina opened her cell door with shaky hands, grabbed her small, skinny arm with a hard grip and lifted her from the floor. He pulled her towards the stair case and brought Rosalina through the door and turned to the left, leading her down an old stone hallway that was lit with torches. On the way out of the basement Rosalina didn't miss the pitied or sympathetic stares from the other woman.

Rosalina's bare feet were very sore and stiff while walking down the hall. After what felt like hours to her, Fredrick finally stopped at a hardwood door at the end of the lit up hallway. He raised his shaking hand that wasn't holding her and knocked on the door with his knuckles. After a moment of silence the two were awarded with a deep, husky voice demanding them to enter the room behind the door. Rosalina knew that voice instantly.

Christopher Martano, the monster that invaded her nightmares during her little hours of sleep. Over the year's of being here, from studying the men, she figured out Christopher was the ring leader. He was also the most ferocious being Rosalina has seen in her nineteen years of being on this Earth. He was altimately her biggest fear, growing up in the cell she was his biggest target. His favourite toy, His possession he would say.

Christopher was the one who would hurt her the most, whether it was emotionally or physically. Anytime he saw weakness in her, he used it to his advantages. He told her that her fear was arousing and her pain was like his drug. She was brought from her thoughts when she was suddenly shoved through the doorway and fell roughly to the plush black carpet. Rosalina flinched when the door behind her slammed shut.

A rough, pale hand grabbed her from the floor and she was met with dark red, cold eyes that could see into her soul; finding every little flaw or weakness in her. Rosalina knew not to show any fear around Christopher for he would take it as a challenge.

"There are some people wanting to attack my home and you, my sweet-" He brought his hand towards her face that wasn't holding Rosalina up and roughly grabbed her jaw in between his fingers, turning her face directly to his. "- Will stay up here away from them. I couldn't risk losing my favourite playmate." There was a short silence and then a loud sound of Christopher's hand meeting Rosalina's delicate face.

She fell to the ground and held a small hand up to her now throbbing cheek. Her hands were pulled from her to be cuffed by a pair of rusted steel handcuffs.

"There, now stay here while I deal with those bad people. Then I'll be back for my sweet." He stared intensely at her for a few moments and then gave her another hard slap on the same cheek, threw her on a couch on the side of the small office and walked out the door. She heard the sound of the door being locked from the outside and his heavy foot steps shuffling away down the hall.
