A few days went by and Mitch took care of me. I returned home after a few hours, but they told me I had a concussion too. Too many injuries.
Summer finally came into my life again when I got home. She ran over to give me a hug, tears streaming down her face, obviously worried.
"I wasn't allowed to visit you," she whispered. "They wouldn't let me." I couldn't hug her back, but I moved my head next to hers. It was the least I could do.
A few months later, I could walk again. Both legs were good, and my concussion was gone. I only had a brace on one shoulder and my forearm/wrist, and that was great progress. It was amazing to walk again.
Summer and I had become close friends, but nothing more. Mitch was happy with me, for the first time. But of course, another accident had to happen.
Ronnie decided to cook lunch one day, and accidentally set the house on fire. Me, Ronnie, Stephanie, Mitch, and C.J. made it out safely. I looked around for Summer, wanting to talk to her. But that didn't happen. I didn't see her anywhere.
I looked around frantically, but she wasn't there. Only when I heard her scream from inside the burning house did I realize that she was in there. Trapped.
I didn't have time to think. "SUMMER!" I screamed. "SUMMER!" Then, I ran right into the burning building.

          Summer's P.O.V.
I watched Brody sprint into the building. It broke my heart to see what he sacrificed for me. Mitch was screaming at me.
"JUMP!"he hollered. "I'll catch you!" I glanced around to see if Brody was anywhere, but when I didn't see him, I jumped out the window.
The firefighters arrived just as soon as Mitch caught me. The fire was extinguished in about two minutes, and the building was still up, but everything inside was burned. Including Brody.
One firefighter came out, holding Brody bridal style. He was burned, and I could see some of his flesh were the skin burned off. But he was alive. Hope filled my heart as I joyfully watched Brody be carried away.
