Neku's POV
"I think he's falling back into the same state he was in before he was put in the Game..."
I woke up to hear Joshua speaking. Opening my eyes, I sat up and looked over to where he stood. On the phone again...
"I can only hope... It's not like I can just check on him. That would be too creepy, even for my standards..."
Who is he talking to? And who about?
My eyes widened as Joshua glanced back at me, reaching out towards my head. Before I could pull away, a green glow surrounded his hand as he pressed it against my forehead. Almost instantly, I saw everything fade out, but not before I saw a small, comforting smile on Joshua's lips.

The second time I woke up, Joshua was still on the phone.
"Yup... I'll be there today. You'll have it all ready for me, won't you?"
Who is he still talking to?
Shrugging it off, I waited for the mission to arrive.
....
....
....
....
It.... usually doesn't take this long.
Am I not getting reception or something?
"Say, Neku."
I jumped, startled by his voice speaking up.
"Y-yes?"
That smile makes me nervous.... What are you scheming now, Joshua...?
"You're coming with me today, right? There's someplace I'd like to go." Joshua spoke up.
I stayed silent.
"You never followed through on your promise yesterday. So today, you're making it up to me. ...Right? We haven't got anything else to do yet. So let's go take care of my stuff first."
"No way! I told you yesterday--first, we do the mission. Then you can play around. Besides, the mission could show up any sec-"
As if on cue, Joshua's phone beeped.
"Whoa, you're right. There it is, Neku! Let's see... 'Proceed to Cat Street. Time limit: 15 minutes.'"
"Fifteen minutes!? That's on the other side of Shibuya!" I exclaimed, quickly standing up.
"We'd better hurry, then." Joshua grinned at me.
"No joke! Shut up and start running! Come on!"
"Yes, sir." Joshua said mockingly, following behind me.
I headed quickly towards Cadoi City. The second I reached the area, I frowned.
"Not one of them...?" I muttered. A wall Reaper stood up ahead.
"Looks like there's a wall up ahead." Joshua spoke up.
"Dammit, we don't have time for this!" I hissed. "Quick, let's clear the wall!"
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
It turned out that we had to clear more than just one wall. The Support Reapers were relentless.
Following Joshua towards Cat Street, I scanned the area quickly for Noise before turning back towards him. Internally, I hoped no more Noise appeared. I was tired, way too tired to put up a decent fight. If Joshua and I are lucky, we'll get to Cat Street without any unnecessary interactions...
