In the darkness, in the hate, the cold, the abhorrence. In his sinister world, the Dark Lord Voldemort waited for his chance. His chance to be return to the world, more powerful than Albus Dumbledore or Harry Potter. He had placed his trust in Draco Malfoy. With Dumbledore gone, Voldemort could easily return to get his revenge on "The Boy Who Lived".
But today, something was wrong. Something had changed in the world. Voldemort had been watching Harry for quite some time now. He was always suffering, living a fearful and expectant life. His only happiness were in his friends, and until recently, his godfather, Sirius Black.
But today, Harry felt love. Voldemort felt weaker. As if an accomplishment in his life had disappeared. It never happened. He searched his brain and Harry's for whatever could have happened. He found it. It was true.
James and Lily Potter are back.
Voldemort filled with rage. Who could have done this? There are only two possible ways someone could be brought back from the eternal rest. The Ressurection Stone - which had been missing for decades - and The Mirror of Erised. It had to have been the mirror. But, who would take the risk of stepping into the mirror to bring back Lily and James? It couldn't have been Harry himself. Dumbledore had hidden the mirror from students. The only people who know it's location are teachers. The only teacher who cared enough for Lily or James is Severus. But Severus wouldn't do it, would he? He's a Death Eater. He's on my side, thought Voldemort. It wasn't him.
All went dark. Everyone stood still. The Dark Mark appeared in the sky. All the Death Eaters dropped their task at hand and swooped into the sky. They rushed to Malfoy Manor, where their Lord was waiting for them. Narcissa greeted them, and one by one, they sat down around their leader.
They sat still, waiting. Voldemort seemed disturbed. He looked them each in the eye, slowly, studying their faces. Assessing their knowledge to see whether or not anyone knew of what had happened - especially Severus. Severus's blank expression gave away nothing. He knew that if he made even the slightest twitch that gave anything away, he would be putting Lily's life in danger once more. They all seemed unknowing enough to be trusted. Voldemort finally took a breath and parted his lips as if to say something. After a moment he revealed:
"They're back. James and Lily Potter are back."
