My mind was to busy focusing on his attire to comprehend what he had just said.

"Rhea? Are you dead?" His face full of concern.

"I-I'm not sure," I slowly responded, making the situation even more awkward then it already was.

My head shook out of its trance and my legs pushed back, making room for Damien to walk through. His side brushed my arm as he walked by, sending a shiver up my body. Two deep breaths later, the thought of closing the door came to me. I had just now realized that the cold had made its way in. My hands shoved the door, knocking it into the frame, and the warmth returned.

Mom came into the hallway where we were standing, holding a plate full of 'homemade' cookies. Well, that's what she tells everyone. Secretly though, they are the Walmart brand chocolate chip cookies.

"You must be Damien!" My mother chirped, walking over, shoving the plate into my arms and squeezing the life out of my poor date. His face had turned purple before she let him go.

"Careful mom," I joked.

Before we could leave, mom gave Damien the 'ground rules' when it comes to me. Well, since my douche bag dad left us, she had to step up. I have to admit though, she is pretty awesome. Who needs a father when you have a bad ass mother?

My mother stared at Damien and I through the living room window as we made our way to his car. I hopped in, shutting the door, and buckling up.

"You look beautiful tonight," He complimented me, still focusing on the road.

"Thanks, you don't look too bad yourself," I returned.

Damien let out a small laugh, "You don't have to tell me twice, you were practically drooling over me at your door." I could see the corner of his lips curl up into his signature smirk.

"No, there were just... a lot of... Spiders! Yeah, a lot of spiders all over you, it was gross to be honest." My lie didn't get me anywhere, and he chuckled lowly.

"Mhm sure... I could tell that you wanted all this," He motioned his hand down his side, signaling at his body.

"Ye-yeah I wasn't..." My voice slid as I tried to convince him that I wasn't staring.

Nothing much more significant happened in the last 20 minutes of the ride, all we did was make small talk and I sang terribly to the songs on the radio. When I say terribly, it is not an exaggeration. My voice sounds like a whale being choked, to put it nicely. I mean, he even shut off the radio after "Chandelier" by Sia played.

Damien parked his car in a spot right in front of the restaurant. For a second, he was Usain Bolt. He jumped out of the car and ran around the car to my door. He opened it, and held out his hand for me to grab.

How gentleman-like,

I put my palm on his and laced our fingers, my feet stepped out of the vehicle, and he shut the door behind me.

My eyes roamed the beautiful exterior, white pillars held up a stone side roof, pink and blue plants scattered the front gardens. Two huge windows looking into the restaurant stood on each side. It looked a bit like a town hall, in a sense.

"Damn, you get lost in thought a lot, don't you?" Damien chuckled at my side.

"What? Oh, yeah... sorry." I slightly blushed, clearly embarrassed.

As he walked, his hand tugged at mine, and I followed into the restaurant. The inside was even more whimsical than the outside, the tiled floor sparkled in the light, decorative vines cling to the white pillars holding the tall ceiling up. Tables crowded the area, many guests enjoying their meal. Right in the middle of the hall though, the real masterpiece showed. A cylinder-like aquarium reached from the ground to the ceiling, many species of fish swimming about. It was purely magic, capturing my full attention.
