She walked down the dark alley, slowly. It was late, but she had to work until now. Gray mist hovered over the sea, sluggish covering the near harbor. Gloomy swath skulked through the streets. The light of the moon shined through the fog, painting grotesque-like shadows by the boughs of the gnarled trees. The wind whispered in the alleys and gambled with the bell at the old lighthouse. The cold of the night entered unstoppably her clothes and she twined her arms around her. There was a feeling, a feeling that sneaked into her heart, as if evil eyes were following her walk home. "What is that feeling?", she thought. She started moving faster. Suddenly, she heard a sound behind here, a strange sound, a sound like a giggle. She stopped, petrified, hardly dared to move around her head. She turned carefully around, prepared for anything. And stared in the face of the bare alley. She started breathing hard. In this moment, she saw a shadow in the corner of her eye which one disappeared in the dark of the night. She turned back and fled headlessly, when she stumbled and fell. She hit the hard paving stones and her mouth filled up with the metallic taste of blood. She tried to get up, coughed and fell back and tried to crawl away. All of a sudden, she heared that sound again. That giggle. But it seemed to be closer then before. Closer like above her. She tried to turn around, but she felt something cold on her neck. The feeling became warmer. She raised her hand to her throat as she felt a warm, glutinous liquid. Fear seized her as she tried to scream but couldn't. She crawled on, filled with panic, but with her blood she lost her strength. She drilled her fingers in the gap between the stones and pulled forward when a shadow appeared right in front of her. A shape sat in the way and looked at her. She let her weak arms fall down and tried to guess the face, but it was like a thin mist float over her eyes. She discerned a smirk, unnaturally dilated, the white teeth flashed predatory behind the lips. She lost her eyesight after all now and the last thing she heard was a giggle from the shape; it was not a giggle but a chortle, from deep down the throat as barbarous as she lived her last moments in pure fear.
