Hazel woke up, but refused to open her eyes. If she opened her eyes, she would never get back to sleep. Too late. Sunlight leaked under her eyelids and pushed the last of sleep from her mind. Well she was definitely awake now. With a yawn, she got up out of bed and checked the clock on her phone. It was pretty early; 7 in the morning. Hazel realized her friends might not be awake yet as she unlocked her phone, so she opened up her social media feed instead. On it were endless pictures from her fandoms.

She was in a lot of them. People sometimes even called her fandom trash. Yeah, she was definitely fandom trash. The blonde just couldn't help obsessing over stuff. She did it every year. Film, then vampires, then the Wizard of Oz, and now Gravity Slides. Gravity slides was an amazing cartoon about twins Orion and Ariel who have supernatural experiences in a town called Gravity Slides. Hazel's favorite part was the villain, a demon named Phil Decipher. Phil was evil and manipulative and totally attractive. She had a necklace with him on it she wore every day, and even tried to make a cult for him earlier that summer. Her friends had never understood her complete love for this stuff. Sandy, Paz and Jacqueline. They were Hazel's closest friends. And really the only ones she had face to face. Everyone else was online.

Jacqueline didn't get any of Hazel's personality, really. They were polar opposites. Jacqueline was a pessimistic and disdainful goth, while Hazel was optimistic and usually pretty upbeat. Jacqueline was also a writer, apparently. Months ago, Hazel had stumbled upon the skeleton of an amazing book in Jacqueline's room. She had assumed it was supposed to be a secret, and never mentioned even finding it, but Hazel couldn't wait until it was done. What she had read had sounded amazing. Writing was a cool thing to have.

Then there was Sandy. Sandy was also more optimistic. She was a theatre geek and she always wore a flower wreath on her head. The brunette also never stopped talking. Hazel, Jacqueline and Paz all agreed that that got annoying, but they all loved her anyway. Sandy was also an actress. An amazing one. That was her thing. It was awesome.

Lastly was Paz, who was sort of shy. She didn't talk too much, and was quiet when she did, but she was actually pretty smart. And kind of paranoid. But one thing about her was that she can draw. It's amazing. How she can be so talented, Hazel will never know. That thing is awesome.

That was one problem with her friends. They all had a thing they were good at. Writing, acting, drawing, and what was Hazel's thing? Obsessing? Oh well. It wasn't that important. But it would be nice to have a thing. A passion. A hobby. Hazel checked the clock again. She had spent a few hours on her phone. What else could she do? She decided to text Sandy. "Hey! I'm bored!" Nothing. Sandy usually responded in like, ten minutes. She decided to send another. "Hello?" more time passed. Hazel decided to try one last time. "Answeeeer!!" After about half an hour, she finally got a response. Well, responses.

"Hey." "my phone was off." "sorry." "what's up?" Sandy always sent texts in fragments.

"Nothing! That's the problem!" Hazel responded.

"sorry." "I'll start up the group chat." Hazel herself had set up the group chat. It had her of course, Sandy, Jacqueline, Paz and Sandy's friend Mason. Mason lived in a bookstore and was probably totally into Sandy. (She shipped them so hard!!! She called it Mandy! Not that they actually knew about it...)

"Sup."

"Hi."

"Hey." Said Jacqueline, Paz and Mason. It was video chat, so Hazel grinned and waved.

"Heeey!" said Sandy, eager to start off the conversation.

"I'm bored!" Hazel quickly explained to everyone wondering why they had been called. She saw Jacqueline roll her eyes. Hazel wished she had a dollar for every time Jacqueline had rolled her eyes.
