Malia's POV

My phone was flashing with his name illuminating my screen. Walking felt weird as the steroids were affecting my body. The doctors told me with consistent exercise, resting and eating right that all the excess swelling would deplete in due time.

We had to talk, you can't avoid him anyway.

Answering I said nothing for a few seconds but neither did he.

"Hello," I said wondering if it was even him on the other line, "Madrid?"

"Sorry, hello?"

"You called?"

"It was by accident but I did need to speak to you," he wasn't focused and I could tell he was busy. "Why'd you leave me?"

I stopped walking and glance at my iPhone, I wasn't expecting that. "What do you mean?"

"I just couldn't figure it out and it's been in my mind all day."

"After the attack, I just didn't feel safe anymore," I didn't lie completely just partly. I didn't feel safe and my insecurities were beating me senseless because I felt like a burden. Also, my situation and health had changed which was enough to scare me shitless. In addition, to being attacked, it was enough to put the fear of God into my heart and I couldn't handle stress well.

"Rightfully so, goodbye Malia," he hung up before I could say bye and my throat felt dry.

Picking up the kids I had felt some eyes on me and the rational anxious feeling that had my palms clammy and my heart beating erratically and out of my chest was more than enough. My throat had felt dry and I couldn't breathe. I couldn't get any air, people started looking at me and the girls began to panic, one undoubtedly calling Eve and the other Wins.

"Hey gorgeous, woah there," he caught me before I hit the ground, my head hurt and I felt dizzy. Reaching out to me I added space not prepared for anyone to put their hands on me.

"I'm going to sit right here a safe distance away okay, I'm not a threat to you," he showed me his hands but my chest was so tight, my hands were trembling and everything felt hot I began to sweat more.

"I know this is very uncomfortable but I'm just going to keep talking to you is that okay," his voice was soothing but the girls were eyeing him making sure he did me no harm.

My only response to him was a nod as he kept talking, "My name is Finn, my parents named me Phineas like from Phineas and Ferb. I'm going to need you to try and breathe slowly for me," trying to listen to his words I tried breathing with him, "Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale. Deep breaths please, don't be embarrassed you're okay just a bundle of nerves riling you up.

Wins' POV

Reaching her was something I did quickly, I sprinted out of the house instead of taking a car. The ice cream truck was down the road running to her I slowed down to see a guy's arm around her and my sister's teary-eyed wondering what was happening to her. They knew she had just been in the hospital and how all of us should take no chances. When I reached her she was back to breathing normally and talking to the guy next to her. He had on a denim hoodie with his arms inked and black sweatpants. His hair was lined up with two braids going back, he pushed his glasses up onto his nose.

"My names Fin, I'm guessing you're the boyfriend?"

"Best friend and she's single," I pushed him aside catching his play to be nosey and checked on Malia. "You okay?"

She nodded not saying much, this situation she was in would have to change drastically. Plus we didn't even know if this was an isolated attack on her or Madrid, she wouldn't tell me why they broke up but there were so many things she was keeping from me and I wasn't one to push.
