John's POV:
John slept well last night.
Why?
He got what he wanted.
John got closer to Alexander than he ever expected to.
As much as Alexander can be secretive, he's very honest about other things usually other people would hide. He seemed pretty cocky, but not enough to come off as a jerk, but just enough to still be able to hide some things.
John learned that Alexander was the kid in school who always read under a tree instead of going to the playground to play tag with the other children. He never wanted to do anything other than work. He always writes, almost as if he's running out of time.
But what was John thinking about most? How he imagined when Alexander told John what his appearance was.
If John was even picturing Alexander correctly, he was adorable. He would probably be a couple of inches taller than Alex, his long brown hair tied back into a neat ponytail, a little fuzz on his chin, and big chocolate brown eyes, but not big enough to look like a character from an Anime TV Series. He could just imagine himself trapping Alexander in a hug. He's just so small!
John knew there was a chance that a stranger was making this all up, but his brain was filled with so many gay thoughts, he could care less.
That is, until Lafayette walked in banging pots and pans to wake up his roomates.
"Allez, mon ami! Réveillez-vous! Vous allez être en retard!" (Come on, my friend! Wake up! You'll be late!) Laf continued to bang pots and pans even though it was clear that John and Herc were awake. John thought he just liked having an excuse to make loud noises, and Herc just thought he liked being annoying, but in an endearing way. Thats Lafayette for you.
John threw on some clothes faster than he could say Large Baguette, and quickly made sure that he had everything, and booked it to his class.
His least favorite class.
Even if it was the first day of this semester, he already knew he wasn't going to like the class. He had to do something extra to get some more experience in different fields just in case being an artist won't work out for him, so he did the most logical thing: he picked Law class out of a hat, and decided to just go with it. (a/n: i have no idea how college works.... is this accurate with the experience part?)
He hope this day won't get to be too bad.
<Time Skip>
"Good Morning everyone!" said the teacher, as soon as John walked in, "My name is Mr. Washington, and I'll be your teacher this year!" John scrambled over to his desk, flopped his stuff down on the floor next to his desk, and frantically searched his pockets for a pen, already causing a distraction, and the class hadn't even started yet.
"Ahem," Washington began, "Mr. Laurens, do you need assistance?"
John couldn't help but smile in embarrassment when the teacher called him out, because everyone also turned around to see John.
Everyone.
Including.....
A cute boy?
A perfect definition of what Alexander had described last night??
He didn't turn around all the way, he only turned to pick up a pencil someone else had dropped when everyone shifted in their seat to stare at John, and handed it back to the person the pencil belonged to, but he saw just enough to know that it had to be Alexander.
"Oh my god," He mumbled, "Did I just discover Alex's identity?"
The teacher did rolecall, and John couldn't help but stare at Alexander, who - just as John would've guessed - had his nose in a book. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt that John could've sworn he had seen somewhere in a Musical somewhere.
John didn't even notice when Alexander's last name was called out.
That was his only shot, and he threw it away.
That is until John's Last name was called.
"Here!" John called out a little loudly due to his daydreaming, and it caught someone's attention, and he saw a purple flash.

Alexander's POV:
As soon as he heard the name John, he started paying attention. He wasn't exactly sure why, but he was on edge after his sudden mood change last night. When he heard the last name Laurens, he searched around the room to see who it belonged to.
"Here!"
Alexander's head snapped around so fast, he was surprised it didn't snap off. It took him a second to realize it was really him.
The man he had been texting on accident was sitting in is college class, and he is the most beautiful being Alex had ever seen.
Alexander's heart pounded again, but this wasn't imaginary. This was reality. This was actually John sitting a couple of rows behind him. He stared at John's beautiful form for what felt like forever, but then John's eyes met Alex's.
Alexander could have sworn he saw a flash of purple in John's eyes.
They both had a look of shock, and then they both looked away quickly, and blushed, not knowing people were still watching, including two boys next to John, who's name's Alexander later learned were Hercules and Lafayette. They were stifling a laugh, because they knew this must have been the mysterious "Alex" that John couldn't stop texting.
"Settle down, class! We haven't even started the lesson yet!" Washington yelled over the class' talking, "Now, open up your books to page 51: 1776, New York City...."
Alexander put his eyes on his book, but he didn't read along. His mind only drifted to the boy behind him. The boy he was convinced was John.
For the first time in a very, very long time, Alexander couldn't focus on his work.
He remembered the last time he couldn't do any of his normal activities. Only it wasn't because of a reason like this, it was sadness that drove him to ignore the rest of the world.
The day his mother died.
He couldn't eat, sleep, talk, and he could barely breathe from all of the crying. He was so devastated that his favorite person was gone forever. He didn't have many family members, and the one the he had left; his cousin; he moved in with, but then the cousin committed suicide, leaving Alexander with no one left. He decided he needed to take advantage of the things around him and use his resources and fight for himself, so he did the one thing he knew best.
He wrote his way out.
Long story short, he got to America and kept his grades up, and now he's at King's College. It couldn't get any better than this.
Alexander turned around and snuck a peek at John.
Okay, maybe it can get a teensy bit better.
