As the workday ended I drifted off into a deep thought. Wondering if everything was really a dream, wondering if I myself was going crazy, wondering if what I saw in the doorway was real. But all of those thoughts stopped as I saw the last person leave, asking me if it was alright that I had to close up shop. Of course being the caring person I was, agreed and let her go home.

I got up around the 12 o'clock mark, seeing how late it was, I grabbed the keys and began to close the large brick building. I turned off the last light, holding the keys to the building, and locking the front door. I turned around and headed for my car until I got a call from an unknown number. Hopping into my car, I was hesitant, ' Maybe someone's just messing with me'. I picked up the phone starting the car, only to hear static in my ear.
" Who is this?" I asked, befuddled at the noise, but there was no answer. I begin to back out of the parking lot when the static turned to faint whispers. I began to speak as phone shut off.
" Alright, very funny!" I shouted,
" Your starting to piss me off!"

The phone turned back on, making its usual dial-up noises, as the lock screen appeared, there were 27 missed calls, from an unknown number. As pissed as I was, I turned the phone off once more, backing into the lot's driveway. My windows dripped with the cold rain, coming from the once more night sky.

I stumbled through my front door, walking into the small apartment. I set my phone down on the small kitchen table, as I stumbled once more into the gaping darkness of my room. Hearing the door slam, I swung around to find that the darkness had grown. 'Shit' I thought and gripped the handle of the wood-rimmed door.

Slamming the door open, to my surprise, there was no one there.
" Hello?" I asked, being the stupid self I was. And of course, there was no response. ' Idiot' I thought as I laid on my bed.
