The T.V. blared as the rain pounded on the living room window. I sighed, looking up from my phone, my eyes planted on the T.V. screen. The reporter began to speak as I turned off my cell phone.

"The strange disappearance of James Jackson is still unknown, here we have Amy on the scene now, Amy take it away".

" Thank you, Steven".
" Yesterday night there was a report of noise coming from a nearby factory, people stating that the noise was 'Static- like' or 'Like a cell phone ringing'. A day after the report was conducted, another report around that area was of a missing man, by the name of 'James Jackson'.

The news reporter began to go on about James, sometimes choking up on her words. 'Was this someone she knew?' I thought, as the rain scattered around my small home. I watched the girl ramble on and on about the missing man. I sighed a bit and looked into my small kitchen. It was dark, the wooden floors creaking, the back door swaying, rain pouring in.
"Agh, crap," I said aloud, running to the compact space. I slipped a bit, twirling on the soaking floor. Reaching back, I gripped the handle to the back door, slamming it shut and falling down. There was a loud crash, sending chills down my spine. I stood up, grabbing the nearest thing I could find. The hair stood on the back of my neck, as I got up off of the soaked wooden floor.

My feet scuffed on the old creaky floors, the T.V. blaring, and the sirens outside. The large knife held perfectly in hand, I shuffle my way to the towering stairwell. Since my mother had passed away, I was given her home in her will. The home was the size of a mansion, making it seem odd for one person to live there. The floors were all wooden, creaky, and faded. Rain would always find a way to seep into the home, making it hard to keep the floors in nice condition.

My heart was outside of my chest, as I began to step on the stairwell. As I did so, I began to slip back, dropping the knife in hand.
" Shit!" I gasped, as I fell off the step.
