9:24am || Portland

As Noah brushed her teeth, she thought of last night and how she treated Harry. She wondered if she had been too harsh with her words, or if she had hurt his feelings. Noah shook her head, she certaintly didn't hurt his feelings; he seemed pretty tough.

Noah forced a dark blue sweater over her head, and stepped into some ripped skinny jeans. She let her hair fall in its naturally straight state; running a brush through it. Noah grabbed her bag, and put on simple, black flats before she left for school.

-

Harry slid into his seat  across the room from Noah, and observed her. Today she looked rather comfortable, in a dark blue sweater and jeans. The professer came in and prepared to start class.

"Good morning, Students. Today we will be talking about the steps to trusting someone. We will be working with partners to collect twenty secrets from each other and present the top ten on Friday. You have the campus to roam with your partner and collect information. Meet back ten minutes before class ends. You may choose your own partners. Get to work!" He clapped his hands together, sitting behind his desk.

Noah looked across the room, and decided she was going to be partners with Harry. She walked over to him, placing her front palms on his desk.

She cocked her head to the side, observing him as he copied her. Harry had worn a dark grey, almost black sweater, his usual black ripped jeans; a green bandana on his head.

He grinned up at me, "I'm assuming you want me to be your partner."

Noah bit her lip, nodding her head. "You don't have much of a choice,Styles."

"Oh, babe." Harry winked before collecting his notebook and pen, following Noah to whereever she was taking them.

-

It turns out, Noah had decided it was best to complete their project on the rooftop. Harry's eyes widend as she neared the edge.

"Are you out of your mind?" Harry questioned her sanity, as he used one hand to shield his eyes from the sun; the other holding his notebook.

Noah laughed, throwing her head back. "I lost it years ago."

Harry didn't find any of this funny at all, and turned back around to go back into the building.

As he tugged on the door, he realized he didn't put a rock in it to stop it from closing; they were locked on the roof.

"We're locked up here aren't we?" Noah startled him, as he scratched the back of his neck; nodding his head.

Noah sat down on the ground, patting the spot next to her for Harry to join her. He sat down and crossed his legs opening his notebook.

"What's your deepest darkest secret?" Harry asked noah, as he prepared to write her answer.

She laughed, her hair flowing behind her as she rode on her bicycle with her friends beside her. It was Friday nigth, and Noah basically begged her parents to let her go out with her friends to the beach.

Although Noah had told her father she it would be just her, her friends had other plans and invited boys to their beach bonfire.

"I thought it was just us? What are they doing here?" Noah eyed the three boys who clutched beers in their hands; their eyes hungrily raking her body.

"Don't tell me you didn't think we'd have a bonfire on the beach on a Friday night, and not invite boys?" Noah's friend, Riley raised her eyebrows, breaking into fits of laughter when she realized Noah was serious.

"I-I have to go." Noah swivled around and walked quickly towards her bicycle.

"We just got here. It's far too soon for you to be leaving now. The party is just now starting," Noah's other friend, Skylar grabbed her arm.

Noah bit her lip and gave in, letting her friends presure her into doing something she didn't want to do.

After a couple of rounds of Spin the Bottle, Noah rose to her feet; walking to her bike. This time, no one came with her; ignoring her actions.

She rode down the pavement to her father's cakeshop, she knew something was wrong once she saw two figures dressed in black running from insdie of the shop.

"Daddy?"

Noah didn't think twice before dropping her bicycle and taking off towards the shop. She threw open the door and ran to the counter.

Noah found her father choking and sputtering, on the linoleum. She hopped the counter, and fell on her knees in front of her father.

"Daddy? You're okay! Everything is going to be okay. Somebody help! Help me! Somebody help me! Please!" She looked back down at her dad to see the life escaping his eyes.

Blood was on both of their clothing, and her hands trembled. "No! Daddy! Stay with me! Somebody help me!"

Her friends rushed in, and one of them called the police.

Noah rested her head on her father's bleeding chest as the ambulance took longer than they normally did.

"Daddy, no! Stay with me, you're okay. Keep your eyes open! No! No! No! You won't die, you're going to be fine. You're going to be okay! Its okay, itsokay." Noah's body had been rocking with fear, and it all happened in a blur.

The ambulance arrived too late, and her father had already passed. Noah's mother wrapped her hands around her elbows, dragging her away.

Noah kicked and screamed, "No! We can't leave him! No! Please! No."

From that day forth, Noah decided it was her fault for what happened. Tears stung her eyes, as she thought back on that day.

Harry wrapped his arms around her, and held her tightly as she sobbed into his sweater.

He pulled her back and wiped her tears, his eyes searching hers. He holds her face in his hands, staring at her.

He licks his lips, and kisses her.
