It was about 2:30 in the morning now, and I couldn't sleep. Harry was asleep next to me; but I had just been restlessly moving around in the bed, trying not to wake him, but at the same time, being completely unable to fall asleep.
"I'll be back." I said softly; kissing him lightly on the forehead, even though he couldn't hear me.
I slid out of the bed, tiptoeing across the floor, pulling Harry's shirt down lower on my legs, it hit a little below midthigh (hey. Im short. Im only like...5'1" ;P ) Harry didn't even move; well, when I got out from under his arms, he sort of readjusted, rolling over more, burying his face further into the pillow. But once he had readjusted into the pillow, he was back to his peaceful sleeping.
Not to sound like a creep; but honestly, I could watch Harry sleep forever. He just looks so...cute when he sleeps!
I crept out of his room, and saw that Louis' bedroom door was open. I didn't dare go in; what if he was still upset with me?
So instead, I just went down the stairs as quickly and quietly as I could; and into the kitchen.
Mmmmmm time for tea.
I set the kettle on, pulling out everything I needed; sugar, tea bag, and a mug.
"What are you doing down here?" I heard a voice, right behind me.
I shrieked, and covered my mouth, whirling around, to reveal a smirking Louis; obviously amused at my freakout.
"Damnit Lou! You don't do that!" I yelled, whacking his chest.
He was still laughing at me.
"I'm sorry. I couldn't help it. But seriously, what are you doing down here? Its like...really early. or...really late. Depends on how you want to look at it." he rambled, obviously speaking his thoughts out loud.
I chuckled a little.
"You're such a dork Lou." I laughed, gently pushing his shoulder. "And I'm down here because I couldn't sleep, and I just..wanted some tea, and to watch a movie or something. I dunno."
Now that i was down here talking to Louis, I didn't know how to feel about things. He was laughing and joking like everything was perfectly fine; so of course, I was going to do the same. I just wanted to make sure things were fine. But..didn't want to be the first to bring it up. Urghhh. Im so confusing.
"Weeeeeeellll." Louis said, dragging out the word. "I can go put a movie on, and you could make me some tea too; because I couldn't sleep either." he suggested.
"Sure thing." I smiled. "Sounds great."
"Wanna watch a horror movie?" he suggested, grinning evilly.
I smirked.
Most girls were utterly terrified of horror movies. I on the other hand, loved them. Sure; I got scared, but it was a good kind of scared. I loved to watch them. Loved getting little adrenaline rushes during the bad parts.
"Pick the scariest one you can find." I taunted, before turning my attention back to the water, which was now boiling.
I made the tea quickly; mainly because over the short time of our friendship, Louis had made it a top priority to ensure that I knew how to proplerly make him tea.
I grabbed both cups and waltzed into the living room, plopping myself onto the couch next to him, where he was sitting and staring at a dvd box, his brow furrowed in concentration as he read the synopsis.
"So...i don't know where the hell Harry got this movie, but...it looks like it could be good. Some weird-ass american movie. It's called Autopsy." he told me, before getting up and putting it in.
"Mmmmm. Hope its good." I said, snuggling back into the cushions.
Louis took his tea from me, before draping a blanket across the two of us.
"Thanks for the tea love." he said, shooting me a wink, while taking a long sip of the steamy drink.
I rolled my eyes.
"Anything for you darling." I teased, nudging his shoulder with mine gently.
He chuckled, focusing his attention to the commercials that were playing before the movie.
I never understood those. There was no point to them. I hated having to sit through them. But Lou, he loved watching them. Said that they were 'vastly important and we were not allowed to skip them'
I thought it was funny.
"Lou...you're not mad at me...are you? About the uhmm. Harry thing..?" I asked hesitantly, running my fingers along the rim of my glass.
Lou looked at me, his face taking on a serious expression before draping his arm over me.
"Gems, I'm not mad at all. I want you to be happy. And I can tell that Harry makes you happy. Now while you're staying here, I will do my absolute best to make sure you have the best time of your life. And I'll be the best damn bestfriend you've ever had, and I'll keep the little curly haired rascal in check, alright?" He said, a smile on his face.
I returned his smile, snuggling into his side.
"You're the absolute best Loubear." I mumbled into his chest.
He patted my back, and I could feel the rumble of his laughter through his chest.
"Oh, I'm quite aware." he told me, and I could just picture the cheeky grin on his face, and knew he'd wink at me if I was looking at him. "But, you're pretty damn amazing too Gems." he told me.
I sighed and didn't say anything, just enjoying the moment. It was nice to have a guy friend that I could depend on. And I knew that was Louis.
*******
"SHIT Lou! That was actually freaky!" I exclaimed as the movie drew to a close.
It was kind of along your lines of a stereotypical horror movie; taking place in a hospital, with a deranged doctor. It was just very suspenseful and actually had me really freaked out.
"Yeah. It was. I didn't think it would be THAT bad!'' he said, seeming genuinely surprised.
"I am NOT going back downstairs." I exclaimed, ducking my head under the blanket, on his lap.
Lou laughed and I felt his arms underneath me, picking me up, and then he stretched out on the couch, with me laying next to him.
"Fine. We'll just sleep here then." he told me, promptly laying his head on the pillow behind him.
"Lazy ass." I chuckled before snuggling in next to him, and drifting off to sleep, despite the freaky movie replaying itself in my mind.
