The next day I had to break the news to everyone all over again.
"Oh my god." Leon threw his hands into his hair. "Dear sweet lord, that's so fricking sick."
Lacara and Kathy nodded in agreement.
"Poor Cas. Just when everything was getting better..." Josh sighed.
A knock on the front door made us all freeze, and I prayed it wasn't Lilly.
Me and Lester exchanged nervous glances, and he got up and walked over to the door. He opened it, and there was Aaron. Lillian wasn't anywhere around, though. Lester reluctantly let him in.
"Hey. Um, I think you all want me to get to the point." Aaron said, and we all nodded. He sighed deeply. "Well, it's a really weird story. Apparently the very day I was going to ask that girl out, another dude did before me."
Kathy laughed out loud. Even I had to smirk- the situation was extremely hurtful, but the irony was just incredible.
"Yeah, uh... But, it's really my mistake. I found myself extremely guilty for breaking up with Lilly- I missed her."
"So you got back with her again, even though she was with Caspian-" Leon started, but Aaron snapped.
"Ah! That's the thing. I never knew she even turned to Caspian at all. She never told me. I thought she was, y'know, alone."
We all froze. I felt my eyes widen a mile.
"She lied...?" I heard Caspian exhale. We all turned to see him standing behind Aaron. "We... We had such a special few weeks together. And she just-" His voice broke.
Aaron had such a sad, sympathetic look in his eyes. "Oh Cas... I'm so sorry. I really never knew about you two."
Caspian shook his head, wiping his tears. "No, it's okay, just..." He looked up at Aaron. "Promise me you'll make her happy- and keep her safe..."
He looked a little stunned, but then nodded. "I promise."
Caspian managed a sweet smile and gave Aaron a quick, sad hug.

Later on, the boys had talked about how they wanted to ask the girls to prom, but Josh still hadn't decided. Leon had been out all morning the next day, 'installing something'. So when he finally came back, we got worried we'd be late for school.
"Okay, I'm driving." Leon said.
Lester stood up. We all eyed him nervously. "Guys, I'm a little better. I can definitely go back with you guys." His voice and physical condition was still awful, but a bit better than when I first found him in the basement.
