I get a message from Just_A_Guy Saturday morning.
Just_A_Guy: Got any guesses?
Me: Are you Matt or Tyler?
I highly doubt it's either of them. We talk sometimes because we are all section leaders, but the are both seniors. They are Top Dogs. I am not the most noticeable of people.
Just_A_Guy: Nope and nope. Want a hint?
Me: Yes please.
Just_A_Guy: I'm in choir.
Me: Are you a tenor or a bass?
He has to be either a tenor or a bass. There are no boys in the alto and soprano sections.
Just_A_Guy: Not tellin.
Me: What, come on!
Just_A_Guy: Nope XD
Me: Fine. Let's play one of my games.
Just_A_Guy: What kind of game?
Me: 20 questions. You don't have to answer anything that will reveal your identity, but I'd like to get to know you.
Just_A_Guy: hoe about 10 questions?
Me: 20
Just_A_Guy: 10
Me: Fine
As long as he will work with me a little bit. Maybe I can piece together something with simple questions. Not that personal type of stuff. I type out my first questions.
Me: Ok. What's your favorite subject?
Just_A_Guy: I really like choir, but I think my all time favorite is English. I like writing.
Me: Why do you like choir?
Just_A_Guy: It's expressive and fun. I just really like music.
Me: What is your favorite type of music?
Just_A_Guy: Classic rock. Old school stuff.
Me: I was raised on classic rock.
Just_A_Guy: Same here. My favorite singer was Alice Cooper when i was two.
Me: What was your childhood like?
Just_A_Guy: Getting deep are we?
Me: Oh yeah.
I find myself smiling at my too bright computer screen.
Just_A_Guy: I have had a very happy childhood. Nice parents. Adorable younger sister. I did the normal kid stuff. I played outside, was signed up for literally every sport.
Me: Do you still play sports?
Just_A_Guy: No
Me: Why not?
Just_A_Guy: I did in middle school, but when I got to high school I stopped so I could keep up with everything.
Me: What were your favorite spots to play?
Just_A_Guy: Definitely baseball.
Me: Why?
Just_A_Guy: I'm good at short distance running. Every other sport involves too much running.
Me: Do you like sports or choir better?
Just_A_Guy: Choir.
Me: Why?
Just_A_Guy: You don't have to run to sing. XD
Me: Ha! You really don't like running do you?
Just_A_Guy: Cardio sucks.
Just_A_Guy: By the way that makes 10.
Me: Come on! Some of those didn't count!
Just_A_Guy: We agreed 10 and i counted 10 question marks.
Just_A_Guy: And perfect timing. I have to log off.
Me: Aw. Fine.
Just_A_Guy: We will tomorrow.
Me: Ok.
I log off right after I see the green do by his name turn red.
