Cherimoya's father had died right after she was born, so she never really knew him. Pitaya was Cherimoya's idol for all of her life. When the young dragon turned 3, her mother suddenly told her she was going to be a big sister. Cherimoya was surprised by this news, but secretly delighted. She always had wanted a sibling to look after and protect, and now she was going to have one. Before he hatched, Cherimoya was convinced that it would be a boy, however, her best friend Nightwave, seemed to disagree, she believed that the dragonet would be a girl. They made a bet, that whoever guessed correctly would get to name Cherimoya's sibling, and Cherimoya agreed. Pitaya, thought all of this was very amusing. While she said nothing, she secretly agreed with her daughter's prediction. It was revealed that the dragonet was indeed a boy, Cherimoya had won the bet. She was told this while she was sitting in her favourite olive tree. She contemplated what she should name her newly hatched brother and immediately settled on the name, Olive.
