The Story of a Non-Magic User

Chapter 1

The morning in the town of brume was always lively with chatter of people and merchants that come selling things.

Brume is a small town that is full of people from many other countries because it is located at the middle of Vontigre Kingdom and Zales Empire.People and merchants from the Kingdom and Empire always come  to Brume for earning money.

There is one time where the Kingdom and Empire are having conflict for who owns the city of Brume.The conflict last for one year,just a few steps before the Kingdom and Empire going into war.

Brume also surrounded by forest where people and merchants called them The Beast Forest.Mostly because there are many mythycal monster hiding inside the forest and there is also a report of sighting a rare type monster running around the forest.

The Beast Forest has been popular for hunters and adventurers for hunting and gaining money.Because the monster breeding are abnormal,the number of them would increase in a year.It is also adventurers and hunters work to maintain the population of the forest so that there are not monster raid happens.

"Hey kid!Its mornin' already!Are you going to sleep until die?"a sound can be heard.

My eyes opened.Bright light entered his eyes the moment he opened his eyes.Using the back of his hand to protect his eyes,he look at the woman with an apron beside him.

"Oh,good morning auntie."

"Its already one hour before noon."said the auntie.

This is Auntie Rosy.She works at an inn located near the gates of Brume.She also running a rented house near the capital of Brume.She always come to his house as a landlady and always cooked something for him.

"Breakfast is ready.Get up quick before it colds.Arent you have a quest after this?"ask Auntie Rosy.

"Yes.At the Beast Forest,there a quest of finding a lost bracelet that is said a memento of certain noble."said the boy.

"You are just 14 years old,and already having a life of an adult."Auntie Rosy smiles before walked out of the room.

The boy is Ikky Walfred.

While in 4 years old,he escape from his home and his country,Vontigre Kingdom and stumbles into the town of Brume,after two weeks walking without food or water.He was taken in by someone who lives inside the forest and lives with him for the rest of the years.Later,he started to live on his own at Brume.That where he met Auntie Rosy.

I walked through the street where many people and merchant trading.There are also people bring food and eating them while walking.Also a show of magic to trick the eyes of watcher at the side of the street.My destination is the guild at the capital of Brume.

The guild is house for hunters and adventurers gaining money by completing quest and earning jobs.I walked through the door and met the person at the reception desk.

"Good morning,Cecilia.Is there any good things happen?"I greeted Cecilia,the receptionist.

"Good morning,Ikky.Have you completed the quest you accepted yesterday?"Cecilia ask him back.

"Good enough.The bracelet have been returned.The noble were crying though.It just that the bracelet was stolen by Fire Lizard in their cave."

"F..fire lizard!?How many of them?!"

"Just five"

"Five!?This is bad!I must report it to Guild master before somethig bad happens!"

Looking at the reaction Cecilia make,it was understandable because fire lizard is a monster that classified as a monster you cannot defeat alone.One fire lizard must have a complete team of swordsman,mage,fighter,tank and support.With a height of 10 feet a one slash of its tail could destroy three building.

"No,you dont have to worry about it."

"What do you mean not to worry!?"

"Because I defeated them all"

Cecilia paused.

"Its true,here the claw,liver,stomach,skin and its horn.Careful though,the horn still contain a bit of fire magic.Handle without careful and you burn your hand"I said as bringing up five stacks of bags on the reception desk.

Cecilia comes back to her senses and  check the insides of the bag before confirming it.

"W...well it logical that you can beat those lizard completely.Seriously,there is nothing to worry when its you"

"Thats rude though?!"I said as smelled something from her words.

"Anyway,there is a new quest for adventurers and hunters.Someone from The Imperial Army of Vontigre Kingdom came yesterday and give us this quest."Cecilia pulls out a piece of paper and write something.

"It was a quest to subjugate a Rare type monster class,The Rapid Dragon".

Rapid Dragon.A dragon that is said to be the smaller type of dragons.But dont judge by its size.Rapid Dragon has tremendous amount of magic power and specialize in wind magic.With it small build it can control its body using wind magic and move faster.There are rumors said that the moment before you take a stance the Rapid Dragon would have already cut you without you realizing you have been cutted.Quite an assassin there.

"Is it a noble?"ask Ikky.

"Apparently,its a direct order from the King of Vontigre Kingdom.There are several shop and houses that has been destroyed by a Rapid Dragon that escaped from the forest."

"So the Kingdom decides to make a subjugation squad with the 'Ralph' and one adventurers."

"There are making a test to see who has the capabilities of joining the squad."said Cecilia.

"A test?So its like an exam for joining an army right?"

"Thats right.Some adventurers are afraid because its a direct order and some of them are just trying luck."

Ikky was thinking.Maybe try out luck might be the best choice.Who knows he might be able to join the kingdom imperial army or the elite squad 'Ralph'?Well thats of course a joke.

"I think I might want to join as well"said Ikky.

"Yes?"Cecilia answered.

"I said I want to join too."Ikky said for a second time.

"Maybe its only me who thought this but....if you join the test maybe the others might pull out"

"Like I said thats totally rude!?"Ikky cried.

"Its true though.With your current abilities you could have..pfftfmm!!!"

Cecilia words were stopped by Ikky hand.

"Okay!Okay!I understand Lord Cecilia!Mercy please!"Ikky cried while struggling.

Cecilia broke the grip of his hand and cough for a moment.

"Ehem...so you said you want to join the test right?"said Cecilia.

"Yes.So when is the due date?"

"This evening at the Brume capital.There is no need to show a guild card or anything.Just go and show them what you got under your sleeve".

"Alright!Thanks like always for the information!"said Ikky before bursting out from the guild.

Cecilia watch his back until he disappear behind the guild entrance.She playing a bit with her hair and touch the blue hairpin at the side of her hair.

"Clumsy Ikky.....did he doesnt see my charm?"mutters Cecilia slowly while blushing.
