Looking at me through your window,
Boy you had your eye out for a little.
"I'll cut you up and make you dinner
You've reached the end, you are the winner"
"Hey, Seán, wanna go out to dinner tonight? I got a red lobster gift card and it's gonna expire soon, I mean, I'll pay," Mark casually and charismatically rolled the few sentences off his tongue. He was always known for his likeableness. He could really manipulate people in a way if he wanted to, but that's not Mark, Mark wouldn't do that.
On the other end of the line Seán pondered upon taking up his offer. Even though they lived 15 minutes apart, it was already 8 pm and red lobster was another 15 away.
"Mm.... alright, give me a ride? I'll be tired by the time we get back." He lazily crossed his legs on the countertop next to the couch where he was sitting and yawned. A night out with a friend would be alright after a day of recording videos stuck in a chair. Don't get him wrong, he loved it, he just needed to....stretch once in awhile. Deciding whatever he had on was good enough, which happened to be his Anti shirt from a previous skit, he didn't need to do much to get ready.
On the flip side, Mark looked down into the sink and slicked his hair back. Finally looking into the mirror, he grinned at his nightmare black filled eyes as the glass repulsively shattered.
"Oh Mark won't mind buying another mirror...." Dark muttered, still admiring his distorted reflection. "Not after this." He grabbed the the 25$ gift card off the sink counter and stuffed it into his pocket, alongside his credit card. Both were for show, unneeded.
And off he drove.
Rolling down your tinted window
Driving next to me real slow, he said
"Let me take you for a joyride
I've got some candy for you inside"
Seán turned the radio down a bit to talk to Mark, who's eyes were almost eerily glued to the road. "It was really nice of you to invite me to such a nice restaurant. Now tell me, was this planned?" Sean felt tenseness in the air, The was something off, he could even feel static start to fester in his mind. He willed it down.
Mark smiled, chuckling, "Uhm, half and half I guess? I mean I know I wanted to use it today, but not this late and I really didn't know who to take," he just plainly said and stared back at the pitch black road in front of them. Ahead, Red Lobster.
Pulling in, Seán noticed something curious. It was closed, windows sealed, parking lot empty.
His voice started to waver uneasily, "Mark, Uhm, its closed?" As much as he trusted Mark, things were getting....weird.
"Oh, dangit! I thought they were open! I even checked the website and everything. Must've looked at the wrong date or something," he exasperated, dramatically throwing his hands up in the air. He clunked the car into park and turned the engine off. "Wanna go to the front door and see if they have the hours up for tomorrow?"
"Sure! I mean, tomorrow works I guess. Does red lobster usually post their hours on their doors? I didn't think they'd be the type of restaurant to do that."
"Not sure, but no harm in looking am I right, or am I right?" Mark flashed a chilling grin, Dark was impatient.
"Uhm," Seán nervously giggled, "shall we?"
"You seem nervous," Mark commented, already getting out of the car. As soon as Seán wanted to reply, the car door slammed shut, dimming the interior lights.
"Uhm...." he unbuckled his seatbelt, about to open the door.
It swung open. A smile. "Sure you're okay?"
"Y-Yeah....fine, thanks." He took Mark's outstretched hand and lifted himself from the seat, letting Mark shut the car. Then....Mark locked the car, putting his keys in the innermost pocket of his pants.
"You think that's necessary? We're just walking a few feet away to turn back." Seán felt his hands get slightly clammy, his body stiffened, not wanting to move.
"I've heard this is a shady street at night, just in case." Dark's hand twitched, he was growing impatient with "Seán." "Are you coming?"
"Oh! Yeah," Seán almost yelped, forcing his body forward to the entrance.
"Oh, there's no times....well I mean, I have a better idea," Mark whispered and grew closer to Seán. Seán even dared to back away.
"Let's play tag, and I'm it."
"Mark, no, it's late let's go back to the car," he argued and started to back up toward the car, which happened to be locked.
"Too late" Seán panicked, getting a good glance at Mark's eyes, there were no whites. It was all....Dark. Without a second thought, he took off as fast as his legs could take him.
Running through the parking lot
He chased me and he wouldn't stop
Tag, you're it, tag, tag, you're it
Dark chased him exactly where he wanted him, the back of the building. Seán stopped as he didn't hear any more footsteps behind him. Slowly turning his head....
Nothing.
Relived, he walked around the building hoping to get away from Mark.
Then around the corner was Mark, but it wasn't. He knew something was very wrong.
"Mark Uhm, you got me, we can go home now, haha!" He threw his hands up in the air as if he were to be unarmed and vulnerable, in which he was.
"I didn't get you enough yet," Dark growled, grasping Seán's wrist tightly.
"Ow! Mark, that hurts you can really stop it now!"
"I think we need to get one thing clear," he grimaced, taking a second. Taking his free hand, he shoved the other in the chest down into the pavement, letting him feel and white wave of shock throughout his body.
Seán sucked in a breath and yelled. "This isn't a game anymore."
Grabbed my hand, pushed me down
Took the words right out my mouth
Tag, you're it, tag, tag, you're it
Can anybody hear me I'm hidden under ground
Can anybody hear me am I talking to myself
Saying, "tag, you're it, tag, tag, you're it"
He's saying, "tag, you're it, tag, tag, you're it"
"Mark- I-" he groaned and laid his head on the pavement. Mark let go of his wrist, only to take a position to pin him down further. A twisted grin appeared on his face. He only let go of Seán's arm for a second to smack his face, hard enough for a crack to resonate.
A giggle.
Seán let his face stay in that position, grabbing Mark's arm with his now free hand.
"You don't want to do this, Mark."
"Is little Jackaboy afraid? Aw, how cute," Dark pouted.
"I don't want to do this to you, Mark."
"I'm sorry, Mark's not here right now. I'll leave him a message saying you called though."
Seán looked back into Mark's eyes. "So we'll have to do this the hard way, Darki?" Anti sneered, twisting Dark's arm. Dark yawned and twisted back.
"Yes, I think we do." He looked at Seán's twisted arm. "I'm sure he'll enjoy that later."
Anti gandered at Mark's. "Likewise."
Deciding playtime was over, Anti shoved Dark off of him, bringing himself off the ground up to a standing position. Dark was taken aback, but quickly recovered. The two stood face to face.
After a few moments of examining each other, Anti broke the silence.
"Your move."
"You're such a gentleman. I think I'll take that offer up," Dark playfully taunted. He waited just between a second and a half, that off time that would catch anyone off guard.
Without realizing, Dark had made a fatal mistake. Anti noticed his leg twitched right before he stepped forward, in which he dodged and stepped behind Dark. Anti grabbed both his arms and held them behind his back as Dark felt a jolt of pleasure run through his shoulder. He visibly shivered as he felt liquid soak his clothes and run down his chest. Dark chuckled lightly.
Anti bit harder.
Little bit of poison in me
I can taste your skin in my teeth
"I love it when I hear you breathing
I hope to god you're never leaving"
He responded with a moan.
"You'd be surprised on what Mark get's off to, Anti. Wanna try again?" Dark teased and a playful glint appeared in his eyes.
Anti was persistant to hurt him and bit down harder, drawing more blood, ripping straight through the cloth.
Dark let a long drawn out, "fuck," escape his lips, only slightly exaggerating to show how powerless Anti was in this situation. "Keep this up and this might turn into something else. And you don't want that."
Anti scraped and dragged his teeth off Dark's shoulder in one last attempt to make him feel pain before spitting out his blood to the side of the pavement. "You absolutely disgust me."
"I can say the same to you," Dark flattered and suddenly lurched his arms forward, and pushing his weight back into Anti on the parking lot pavement.
Eenie meenie miny mo
Get your lady by her toes
If she screams, don't let her go
Eenie meenie miny mo
Your mother said to pick the very best girl
And I am...
This second time he fell by Dark's hand, Anti's head started to bleed profusely. He dared not to make any signs of discomfort.
Dark quickly switched his position to pin Anti, and before either could react to what they were doing, Dark balled his fist up and punched Anti's Adam's apple, hard.
Anti's eyes pinned and then glazed over, his fight was over. Suddenly, his throat started to convulse and his mouth gasped for air, gurgling sound coming deep from his throat.
"You're choking on your own blood you pathetic fuck. Are you even alive?" Dark nonchalantly and gently lifted Anti's now bruising wrist, and took two fingers to it.
"Tch. Just die already," Dark dropped his wrist and sighed, observing the sight before him in almost a bored manner.
"Fine."
He carefully lifted Anti's chin and took the time to trace the lines that framed his face, now smeared with blood. It was strangely beautiful. Brushing his fingers across Seán's lips, he then just realized how soft they really were.
"It's over," he paused. "Seán."
Without hesitation he gripped the sides of his jaw and forcefully smashed the back of his head to the ground.
It was quiet now. The only thing Dark could think of was Seán's few shallow last breaths. But-
Still warm. Still soft. Still plump, perfect. Still- exhale.
Still. Just still. Silence.
"It would've never worked. Seán loved Mark. Mark loved Seán. I'm surprised you didn't see it sooner. I know you would do the same. We-we would get in the way-we've always hated each other. But I loved you, you know?"
Something wet silently dropped itself onto Seán's cheek as Dark unwillingly moved away.
"The rain will wash away my sins... I don't think I have the heart to clean this up, and Mark doesn't need to know about this. None of it," a shaky, defeated breath left his lips.
