"Jess please turn down your music." Rory said trying not to loose her temper. "Jeez what are you my mother?" Jess shouted. "Jess! I have a paper due on Friday!" Rory sighed exasperated. "Then go out." "Fine!" Rory snapped. "Fine!" Jess snapped back but before she left he grabbed her waist and pulled her close and kissed her. "Now get out of here." He smirked cheekily and that little smile weakened Rory's knees and she knew that however annoying he could be she still loved him.
Rory came back feeling very pleased with herself. "What are you looking so happy about?" Jess asked. "I found the perfect place to study. It's this tree on campus and it supports my back perfectly and...." "That's great." Jess smiled. "But you didn't let me finish." "Well I can think of other things we could be doing." Jess smiled stroking the side of Rory's pale face and looking deeply into her blue eyes. "Like what?" Rory smiled back. Jess took a deep breath and then decided that it was time to do this, he'd chickened out twice now but right now felt right. "Rory this is gonna sound real cheesy which is not, as you know, what I usually sound like and I'm not really one for big romantic gestures so I decided to do it here in our apartment." "Do what?" Rory asked "Rory I love you more than I've ever loved anything my entire life, I never thought I would move in with a girl for a start but with you running away together just felt...right. I don't wanna be that guy looking at you in twenty years through a window at your house thinking 'why the hell did I screw this up?' because I know Rory that even in twenty years I still won't be over you. Which is why I'm asking you Rory, will you marry me?"
