I'm a 6' 4" ft at the age of 30. I'm also muscular than most of my co-workers, but not of them are afraid of me, if anything they like me. I lived in a small town, which is around 23 miles away from the city in which I worked at.
It was a monday morning, so I got up early as usual and ate breakfast, since I can risk losing my job because of my carelessness and arriving late at work.  The road to city is surounded by acres of woods on both sides.
The day went on uneventful, just the usual work. Except for the fact that I got lots of works to catch up on so, I left work at about 11:15 p.m. I took the usual route back home, which is the 23 miles road I just mention. The drive wasn't much, as usual.
The road was dead quiet, since it was this late at night. Everything was fine so far, until I notice a humanoid figure dress in blue jeans and a black T-shirt. I was scared out of my mind, since they seem to appeared out of thin air. I swear, they just appeared out of no where, plus it was this late at night, who would be venturing the road alone. But I brush it off as someone walking home from a party or a friend house or something.
I drove over to the person to only see them looking down. I roll down the window and asked them if they needed a ride home. They said nothing, so I ask again thinking they must have been drunk or didn't hear the question. After, asking them louder the second times, they finally look up. It was a girl who look to be in her early 20.
"Need a ride home?" I asked akward just as I do when I meet someone I never seen or talk to before.
"How can I trust you?" She mumbled as if she can speak properly.
"You can trust me, or I can just leave. Make your choice quickly before the rain pour down on you in any minute now." I replied.
She got into the car slowly, I felt a sudden chill on my spine as she entered, again I brush it off and blame the wind, since a storm is coming.
"So, where do you lived?"
There was an akward silence for a whole minute, until she answered, "down the road 0.5 miles and then take the road on the left."
I just sit there staring at her for a while, before I started the engine again and drove of. I tried starting a conversation and asking her questions, but all she did was put her head down the whole times, while mumble something under he breath as to answer my question, which I can't quite make out what was being said or in this case, mumbled.
After a while of dead silences, the girl finally look up and told me to stop the car. I did as I was told and look around, to the left, the rigt, forward then backward but can't find any sign of a house or anything that represent one.
I turned around to ask her where her house was but what I saw still leave me confuse and stunt. There was no one there, in fact there was no sign of anyone being there at all! I stared at where the supposedly girl sat, for 10 whole minutes.
After that, I started the engine and told myself, that she has just left but there was no sound of the door opening at all but it can just be the wind that stopping md from hearing the door being open.
My second theory was that she has left the car and walk the whole way home herself since, she wanted to keep her address away from stranger like me, which made more sense, but the thing is I didn't her or anyone ahead. My third theory, which was the one that made most sense in a way, was that it was all an hallucination from the stress today, but it all seem so real.
Once I arrive at my house, I just wash my face and went off to bed after I set the alarm to wake me up 30 minutes earlier.
I woke up to the alarm and followed the usual mourning routine. Once I ate breakfast, I left to go the check on the site where the "drop" of the "girl" last night, to make sure there no house and that it was just a hallucination. I was only a few meter away from the site, when I saw flashing red and blue light. I look around but there was no house in the distance. I stop the car and ran the whole way. As I got closer I saw three police's cruisers, which made no sense. I ran up to one of the cop and ask him what was going on.
"Someone drove into a tree last night. We aren't sure when but it seam to be around 7:00 to 8:30 pm." Answered the cop, "By the way, who are you and what are you doing here, son?"
I was about to tell the cop about what happen last night, but kept my mouth shut. Instead I ask him who it was, that was in the car. What the cop told me next, made me think again whether this is reality or fantasy.
"It just some girl in her early 20. You haven't answer my question, yet. Who are you and what are you doing here?", the cop asked again.
I told the cop my name and he told me his' was Edward. After our little introduction, I asked him what the girl was dress in. As expected, he told me that she was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
Edward must have seen my frighten expression, since he ask what was wrong. I told him my encounter last night, while he stand there listening without saying a word. After I was done, I was expecting to hear laughter but instead, he place a hand on my shoulder and told me I wasn't the first one. I didn't quite understand, until he told me about the mutiple calls his department got last night about the same encounter I just told him.
None of this made sense. Am I crazy? Is this reality? Is this a dream - a nightmare? What is going on? Please help.
