Annabeth POV
"Good morning and happy birthday Percy Jackson. You're officially 18 years old now." I said. "Let's ask the fates for 18 more."
"Thanks" He faked a smile. I'm not sure if He knew I noticed or not.
Nico came into my cabin last night waking me up to tell me Percy had a nightmare. I thought that he would. It's the first anniversary of the Second Titan War.
"Percy I'm going to ask you a question and please answer me honestly," I said on walking to breakfast. He agreed so I continued "What did you mean, you were lying to me?"
"I would never lie to you Wise girl. You're insane." He affectionately punched my shoulder.
"You told me last night, that you didn't want me to think less of you because you lied. Is there something you need to tell me?"
He was quiet and at first, I thought that he was going to say there was someone else but then I realized, this is my loyal ass seaweed brain we're talking about. "Not today. I'll tell you when I'm ready. Just not today, please." He said this in almost a whisper. I also heard the accent he usually had, amplified, in a way. His voice was a strange hybrid of American and an English accent. If I hadn't known he was American, I would have guessed he was from London.
"Whenever your ready Perce." I nodded and gave him a small smile. Right after breakfast, Chiron called Percy, me and Hazel, who was visiting Nico, we're called to the big house. When we got there I saw Chiron, in a wheelchair, talking to a woman. She had long silky blonde hair that flowed down to her back and she was wearing something that perfectly complemented her figure. When she turned around, I would have thought she was a goddess as gorgeous as she was.
"Bonjour" She was French.
She looked us over starting with me and then looking at Hazel, then landing her eyes on Percy. "Wow, you look so much like another boy I know in England. You will meet him later. You and Harry could be the twins."
"I'm sorry. You said Harry?" Percy looked up.
"Yes." She confirmed. "You will meet him where you will be staying."
"What do you mean where we will be staying?" Hazel asked. "Are we going somewhere?"
"Well, good morning and happy birthday Percy," Chiron said while Percy mumbled a thank you. "You three have been chosen, by Lady Hecate herself to go to England and attended a school of wizards."
"Wizards? Like hocus pocus and abracadabra wizards?" I asked. This can't be real. Wizards are myths. Like actually myths, the non-factual ones.
"Almost. We do have what muggles refer to and magic words. We even have wands and broomsticks and brew potions. But never say that last word, it sounds very similar to another spell."
"The killing curse," Percy whispered, suddenly looking down at the scar he got when he was younger. He never told me how he got it.
"How- 'ow did you get that scar?" Fleur sounded shocked and her accent made it seem more so.
"Car crash," Percy said simply. How does someone get a scar shaped like lightning from a car crash? But I knew my seaweed brain and he wasn't lying.
"Percy, my boy, do you have prior knowledge of the wizarding world?" Chiron questioned.
"No... that just made sense in the back of my mind. So back to this quest, is there a prophecy?"
"No. You just need to spend one year in England and help them at their wizarding school. Monsters have been much more attracted there for some reason. Probably all in search of something or someone. Protect the wizards, learn their ways and stop the monsters. Ensure the wizards are our allies."
"So, are you going to take us to England, Ms..." I trailed off realizing I didn't know her name.
"Ms. Delacour. But please call me Fleur. Like most veela, I am a daughter of Aphrodite." Fleur intruded herself. "I am a witch from France and went to Baubatons. But you will be attending another school, 'Ogwarts." I looked over at Hazel who was frowning at the word witch.
"Hogwarts huh? How are we getting to England? I can't take a plane, child of Poseidon here." Percy said pointing to himself.
"I'm not that into flying myself, or boats," Hazel said. "And when are we leaving?"
"Won't it look suspicious that we don't know anything about the wizarding world?" I asked.
"We will be taking a portkey. No flying, or sailing, needed. We leave at after lunch and then get to ze Weasley's house at dinner." Fleur said.
"Hecate will bless you amplifying powers you already have. And giving you the knowledge to apply your skills. All three of you are wizards." Chiron added.
"The headmistress at the school is aware of the situation. You three being half-bloods and the quest. And you mustn't tell anyone. Not at camp, or at your new school. I mean it Percy. Even if the person is like your closest friend." He looked right at Percy, who was growing pale as he looked down at his palm.
"How do you know? And how much of it do you know?" Percy asked, getting defensive. Under my breath I told him to calm down.
"Your mother, well, Sally told me when you disappeared. She guessed you might have gone back or vanished, the same way you got here." The way Chiron said that implied that Sally isn't Percy's mother.
"'Ere's your story." Fleur started.
Hazel and Percy were her cousins. I was tagging along as a witch who was dating Percy to study in Scotland, I was granted the opportunity because of my excellent record and academic scores. We all attended a very elite school called Chiron's Magic Academy in New York, where we studied magic and its roots in mythology. She even gave us details about this fake school. Then Percy excused himself so he could "go think". A few seconds later Chiron announced that he was going to talk to him.
"So are we getting wands?" Hazel asked when she finished. She nodded and informed us Hecate had already gotten us Wands and they were in our cabins with the rest of our stuff. While me and Hazel were on our way out, we heard a conversation."Percy, my boy, don't you want to know more about your family?" Chiron asked.
"No. I don't. If my mum was anything like her sister, I'm good." Percy said. I didn't know Sally had a sister.
"You don't even want to visit your old home, all those memories?"
"Yeah of being bullied by my cousin Dudley, and getting yelled at by my uncles sister while getting chased by her dog, what fun memories."
"You could see where your parents grew up. Try and reconnect with your cousin or any old friends." Chiron suggested.
"It flatters me that you think I had friends back home. But I think, if given the option, I'll stay here, or go visit my mum."
"Visit your mother?" Chiron asked, somehow I could hear him raising his eyebrow.
"That's not what I meant and you know it."
"Then go and visit her. She is at Godric's Hollow."
Hazel looked and me, shocked.
"I doubt they'll want to go to a graveyard." after Percy said this, I was seriously confused. Sally was alive and in her apartment, as far as I knew.
"I'm sure they would understand."
"How would I explain how I knew her?"
"Tell then them the truth."
"That will go over great, ' Hazel, Annabeth, I have two mortal parents who died when I was one, with a second father who is Posideon. Not only was I born in England, and lived there for six years, I have a fraternal twin brother who I haven't seen since I was six. Did I mention my parents were wizards?'"
Hazel looked up and tapped me on the shoulder from the other side of the door. 'We need to go' she mouthed. 'Not our conversation'.
I wanted to stay and find out what was happening but I felt weird about it. So I followed Hazel out of the big house and three seconds later Percy came out and he jogged up to us.
"Before we leave I need to get something off my chest."
