Draco POV

"Draco! Wake up." Daphne elbowed me. "You're murmuring again."

"Right." I stifled a yawn and sat up. "What did I miss?"

"Not much she's talking about dreams and oracles. We're supposed to do research now with our partners and lucky for you, you have me." Daphne grabbed her book and flipped to the page on the Oracle of Delphi.

Not this again.

"That is fortune, isn't it? I'll just be going back to sleep-"

"Are you sure?" Professor Di Angelo said from behind me.

"I'll stay up Professor," I mumbled as I reached for my quill.

"That's so nice of you. And if you can please stay after class, I think we're due for a chat." She gave a soft smile and drifted off to help the un-help-able Longbottom.

I and Daphne had been writing our 6 inches of notes when Daphne said: "try and get some sleep tonight, okay?"

"Oh, I hadn't thought of that. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll keep it in mind and my nightmares will end just like that." I snapped back in a whisper, If the Gryffindors heard about me having nightmares, I'm sure I would be the laughing stock of their common room. I already wasn't liked because of whose side I had been on last year. I wouldn't have done those awful, sickening, terrible things if my father and mother weren't on that side of the war. My mother always said family first.

My mum said I would find my real family soon. She told me once I was old enough I would meet my endless cousins and kids that would be like my brothers and sisters. I used to dream of meeting them, but then the war came and I grew up. My mum just wanted her son to smile more than twice a year. My nightmares usually included these fake cousins as my mother described them.

"Sorry," Daphne said in a small voice. "If you want, I can ask Astoria to brew some dreamless sleep potion for you again. Lloyd said you've been out for a while."

I have a nod "Just because I'm living in their dorm with them, doesn't give them a right to my things."

Daphne was going to respond when the bell rang. "Don't wait up," I told her. She nodded and walked out.

After only a few seconds, the room was empty and I was alone with the ghostly Professor.

"What did you want to talk about Profesor?" I asked.

"I'm sure you know. Is there anything you would like to know about? About what you slept through? Or maybe you would like to tell me why you've been sleeping in this class and what I can only assume is others?"

"I'm fine Profesor. Just some loud roommates. Lloyd Greensboro might as well have a permanent sonorous charm, they can never be quiet." I had the lie planned out. And my non-binary roommate surely was the loudest person in Slytherin if not all of Hogwarts.

"They do need to learn the beauty of silence.  So you're all caught up on the Oracle of Delphi?" She said. I nodded. "And one thing you know about this specific Oracle is...?" Of course, she was testing me.

"It was once awful corpse in the upstairs of a barn. The room fills with smoke and it gives you a prophecy. Now it's Ra- a living girl." I said. I was too tired to know what words were coming out of my mouth. I wasn't supposed to know that... and I sure as Merlin wasn't supposed to know Rachel's name.

Professor Di Angelo was taken aback. "Yes... I- um- that's right. But try not to mention that in class, for learning purposes and the quiz I'm planning for the end of the week. You slept through that announcement." She paused to look me over. "Draco... May I ask if you know who your parents are?"

"What does this have to do with Mythology?" I took a step back. She waved off the question and asked her's again. "Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy. I'm on the list of the Noble 27 Pureblood families. America truly can't be that uneducated to the Noble 27 Families."

She said she must have forgotten. She then sent me out of the room but not before "If you need a dreamless sleep potion to keep the noise down in your dormitory, let me know. And if Rachel ever says anything in your dream, tell me immediately. And not any other mortal. Understand? A nod isn't going to cut it, I need a verbal yes."

I'd never heard her be that strict, Professor Di Angelo never seemed sure about anything, but this...

Maybe those cousins that my mum told me about aren't as fake as I thought. "Understood."
