Chapter 12:Partners for the  Ball

Harry's POV:

Ron singed his eyebrows as a familiar voice came behind us and said"Nice look Ron.......... go well with your Dress Robes that will"It was Fred and George

"Ron can we use Pidwidgeon?"George asked
"No he's of delivering a letter"Ron said"Why?"
"Because George wants to invite him to the Ball"Fred said sarcastically.
"Because we want to send a letter,you great ,stupid ,prat"George said
"Who'd you keep writing to eh?"Ron asked interested
"Nose out Ron or I'll burn that for you too"Fred said threatingly waving his wand"So......you lot got dates for the ball?"
Nope"Ron said"Well you better hurry up Mate or all the good ones will be gone."Fred said
"Who are you going with"asked Ron
"Angelina"said Fred promptly without a trace of embarrassment
"What"asked Ron taken aback"You've already asked her?"
"Good point"Said Fred.He turned his head and called across the common room"Oi Angelina!"
"Angelina, who had been chatting with Alicia Spinnet near the fire looked at him and called back"what"
"Want to come to the ball with me?"

Angelina gave him an appraising sort of look
"All right them"Then she started talking with Alicia again with a grin starting to form on her face.
"There you go"He said to Harry and Ron "piece of cake"
He stood up yawning looking at George and saying"We better use a school owl then George"
Ron looked at Harry and said"He's right you know we better get moving and ask someone we don't want to end up with a pair of trolls"
Hermione spluttered indignantly saying"A pair of...what excuse me?!"
"Well you know"Ron shrugged"well I'd rather go alone with-with Eloise Midgen I say"
"Her acne's loads better lately-and she's really nice"
"Oh I see"Hermione said briskly"Your going to go with a good looking girl,even if she's horrible?"
"Er-yeah that sounds about right"Ron said
"I'm going to bed"She snapped.Then Hermione went running up to the girls dorm

The HOGWARTS staff wanted to impress Beuxbatons and Durmstrang, In the Great Hall there was the usual 12 Christmas trees and Everlasting icicles on the ceiling with golden hooting owls and the suits of armour was bewitched to sing Christmas Carols, and Filch caught Peeves hiding in the armour were he had taken to hiding,and left gaps in the carols and filled them with rude words.
"I guess we could always going with Moaning Murtle"Harry said grumpily.
Moaning Murtle haunted the girls toilets she died there when the Chamber of Secrets was opened and she looked into the snakes eyes and now she haunts it.
"Harry we've just got to grit our teeth and do it"Ron said"When we both come back to the common room tonight We'll both have partners agreed?"
"Er-ok"Harry said

Harry saw Cho going to History of Magic but she was never alone he thought he could ambush her on the way to the girls toilet but she was escorted with atleast 4 or 5 girls.So Harry walked up to her and said"Er-Cho could I have a word?"
Giggling should of been illegal Harry thought because her friends were giggling furiously ,quick,"Sure"Cho said.
We walked to the top of the tower with snow falling,"Will,you,go,to,the,ball,with me?"

"What's?"She asked
"Will you go to the ball with me?"Harry asked turning red.
Then her cheeks turned bright red as she said,"Oh I'm sorry Harry but I said I'll go with some one else"She said looking sorry"I. Really sorry"
"Oh-It's fine"Harry said"No problem"
Then Harry and Cho kept staring at each other until Cho said"Well-"
"Yeah-"Harry said
"Well bye Harry"She said walking of.
Harry called after her until he could stop himself
"Cho"
"Yes?"
"Who are you going with?"
"Oh-Cedric"Cho said"Cedric Diggory"
"Oh right"
I remembered everyone loved Cedric all the girls swooning over him I walked into the common room and found Ron.

"Hi Ron"
"Why did I do it"Ron said Wildly"What came over me?"
I pHarry looked confused until Ginny said" He-er asked Fleur Delacour to the Ball"She patted Rons back sympathetically she looked as though she was fighting back a smile on the blind horror in this face.
"You what?
"I don't know what made me do it!"Ron gasped again"What was I playing at ?There were people all around I'm mad everyone watching I was just walking past her in the entrance hall she was talking to Diggory and it just sorta came over me!I asked her"

He moaned,put his face in his hands ans said"she looked at me like I was some sort of sea slug.Didn't even answer and dunno I came to my senses and ran for it"
"She's part Veela"Harry said"You were right here grandmother was one , but it wasn't your fault I bet she was giving Diggory her old charm she was wasting her time.He's going with Cho"

Ron looked up and Harry said"I asked her to go with me just now"He said dully"she told me."
Ginny stopped smiling.
"We're the only ones left who don't have a partner-except Neville,hey,guess who he asked?Hermione!"
"What?!"
"Yeah I know"Ron exclaimed as colour came back to his face"He said she's been really good and helping him with potions and stuff-but she said she was already going with someone else Ha-as if I mean who would go with him?"

"Don't"said Ginny annoyed"Don't laugh-"
Just then Hermione climbed the the painting and said"Where were you?I didn't see you at dinner?"She asked coming to join them.
"Because-oh shut up laughing you two-just because they've been turned out asking girls to the ball!"Ginny said.
That shut Ron and Harry up,"Thanks a bunch Ginny"Ron said sourly.
"All the good looking one taking Ron?"Hermione said loftily,"Eloise Midgen looking pretty now isn't she?Don't worry someone somewhere will have you"

Ron was staring at Hermione as if seeing her in a whole new light"Hermione,Neville's right-you are a girl"
"Well spotted"She said acidly
"Well-can you come to the ball with one of us?"He asked
"No I can't"Hermione snapped
"Oh come on"Ron said impatiently" We need partners or were gonna look really stupid if we don't have partners,everyone else"
"I can't"She said now blushing"I'm already going with someone"

"No you aren't, you only said that to get rid of Neville"Ron said angrily
"Oh did I?"Said Hermione, and her eyes flashed dangerously"Just because it's taken you 3 years,it doesn't mean everyone else hasn't spotted I'm a girl!"
Ron stared.And he grinned.

"Ok ok we know you're a girl"He said"That do?Will you come now?"

And she stormed of into the girls dorms.
"She's lying"Ron said flatly.
"She isn't"Ginny said quietly
"Who is it then?"Ron asked sharply.
"I'm not telling you, it's her business"Ginny said.
"Alright"Ron said extremely put on"This is getting stupid,Harry you go with Ginny I'll-"
"I can't"Ginny said turning scarlet red"When Hermione said no to Neville he asked me and I well since over fourth hears could could I well-"She said indignantly"I'm going to dinner"She walked through the portrait her head bowed down miserably.

Ron goggled at Harry.
"What has gotten into them?"Ron asked.

That's when Harry saw Parvarti and Lavender walked in through the portrait hold.The time had come for a drastic action.
"Wait here"He said to Ron and he stood up and walked straight up to Pavarti and asked"Pavarti?Will you go to the ball with me?"She let out a giggle and Harry crossed his fingers in his pocket as she said"Yes,alright then"She was blushing furiously.
"Thanks"Harry said in relief"Lavender-will you go with Ron?
"She's going with Seamus"Pavarti said making the pair giggle even harder.
Harry sighed
"Can't you think of anyone who go with him?"He lowered his voice so Ron couldn't hear
"What about, Hermione Granger?"Pavarti asked
"She's already going with some one else"
She looked astonished.
"Ooh-who?"She asked keenly.
"No idea"He shrugged"what about Ron?"

"Well I suppose"Pavarti  said slowly"My sister you know Padma,a Ravenclaw I'll ask her if you want?"
"Yeah sure"Harry said"Tell me what she says"
And he went back to Ron knowing he would hate the ball,and hoping Padma,Patil' s nose if dead centre and also feeling this ball would be a lot more trouble than the worth.

I wanted to do this chapter in Harry's POV since there hasn't been a lot of him or Sirius when the school year ends Lynx will go to Grimmauld place and if you want a spoiler then here's a part of the chapter she. She's in Grimmauld place at the summer.

I walked down the stairs of Grimmauld Place and entered the Kitchen,Kreacher always liked me more than Sirius since I was a Slytherin and he was a Gryffindor.
I sat down on a chair as Mad-Eye Moody said"Miss.Black we've been thinking since your cousins and Aunts think you're at a friends house we want you to disguise as a Death-Eater-"

There's the spoiler I didn't want to give to much away and also when I start writing the next book 'Lynx Black and the Order of The Pheonix' The spoiler will be the first chapter
