"Oh my god! I can't believe this is happening!" Squealed Olivia as they scurried our the front door.
"Front row tickets to Imagine Dragons!!!! Eeeeeek!"
I shrieked.
"Girls," moaned my mom. "You're screaming in frequencies only dogs should hear!"
"Sorry," we whispered, looked at each other, and burst our laughing.
As we approached the car, I asked:
"Hey Oli, wanna ride shotgun?"
Olivia, being the polite type, and fully knowing that I loved riding shotgun, simply replied:
"No, you can."
"You sure?" I asked, making sure she was ok with it.
"Of course," grinned Oli.
"It's totally fine if you-"
"SARAH! Sit in the goddamn front seat already!" Oli laughed.
I grinned as I clambered into the front row seat.
Oli buckled herself in in the backseat, and we took off down Pinetree Lane.
I could sense Oli was excited. This was her favorite band in history. She knew all the words to every song they had ever done. She was kind of obsessed.
We drive down the highway, talking about how we would probably get to touch the hands of Imagine Dragons, when a deer bolted across the road.
Everything was playing in slow motion.
Mom slammed on the brakes, and yanked on the steering wheel, trying to avoid the deer. The car spun out of control, and I heard screaming. We hit a tree on the side if the road. Then we were hit by silence.
The tree had smashed at the back of the car, so mom and I were completely fine, other than a little shaken. I smiled a small smile, and shakily said:
"That was a close one, hey Oli?"
As I turned to see her answer, I screamed. Oli was gasping for breath, blood dripping from her mouth and neck. The window next to her was smash, and glass was scattered around her.
Before I could say anything, the gasping stopped, and her eyes became nothing more than empty pools.
