The words wouldn't get out of my head.
One month.
I couldn't stop thinking about it.
One month.
How she coughed up blood.
One month.
The glass scattered around her.
One month.
And how the light had faded from her eyes...
One month.
And then she was gone.
Over this month, I had had time to think. And I realized the reason she was dead, was because she put me before her for the simplest thing. She let me sit in the front seat. I lived. While she died.
It should've been me.
She didn't know she would be sacrificing herself for me with this one little act of kindness.
She didn't know.

I stared at the frame. The one that held the picture. The picture where we had our arms wrapped around each others shoulders and were grinning like idiots.
She's not here now.
