Sebastian Michaelis knew NOTHING of heaven, he had been locked away from that place for as long as he could remember. He never felt any desire of ever having to go to that place as long as he existed and he sure was contented of being a demon.

He preys on the souls of humans, a great delicacy for demons are the pure, innocent ones that had not been tainted yet shrouded in darkness. the foul ones are the souls as dark as his, the souls of those who are too far gone for any type of forgiveness, tainted black souls destined to burn in hell with him. He loved his job, he loved having to lure humans to their deaths while he himself would enjoy feasting upon their soul, a delicious dinner for him indeed. To him, Humans were livestock, a way of entertainment when he would get bored living in hell, just like cattle in the pen ready to be slaughtered and reaped.

But all these beliefs vanished the second Ciel Phantomhive entered his life.

Ciel Phantomhive, the brat he had tried to put up with for the past three years, just perfecting and seasoning his soul to the most delicious state it would ever be. the boy who had reached out to him in desperation and fear, the boy who never showed fear to a demon like him, the boy who had managed to get along with a demon no less.

Over all, Ciel was Sebastian's headache and the bane of his existence.

Yet why (pray tell) can't he consume this boy's soul as he laid there unmoving and offering his soul up to him in surrender after all those years? Sebastian looked at his young master with annoyance, why couldn't he bring himself to erase the boy from the world? why couldn't he just enjoy his long awaited reward that was served right in front of him?

No..he couldn't eat his soul.

"S-Sebastian" Ciel breathed and cracked open an eye, his gaze landed on a hesitant demon who looked as if he had laid eyes upon The most confusing puzzle ever made by humanity, do demons usually have this battle in themselves whenever they consume souls?

"Sebastian, you're hesitating" Ciel mumbled sadly, snapping Sebastian out from his trance. The butler watched as Ciel's tears cascaded down his face, the face of an innocent brat who had managed to crawl his way into Sebastian's skin, both in a good and bad way.

"Master...I..Can't" Sebastian choked, it was humiliating, mortifying, DISGRACEFUL! how could a demon such as himself could say such a thing.

Ciel only smiled and reached out to cup Sebastian's cheek "Now do not let this face stop you from your reward, i may look like a helpless child but i can assure you, i am contented Sebastian...you kept your promise, you helped me through everything, endured so much pain unimaginable to humans, and you have served me well" Ciel paused, he felt the familiar tug of the contract that resided on his eye as he spoke his last few words

"You are now at liberty Sebastian Michaelis, claim your reward..this is an order..my last order"

He had done it..a direct order, one Sebastian would never have the strength to back out. it was done, he had no chance of keeping his young master now.

He bowed his head and placed his hand on his chest where his "heart" resided, and with a strained voice, he answered

"Yes, My Lord"

Then....nothing

"You'll always have me, Sebastian"

-Ciel Phantomhive
